GRID

"The best racing sim. Period."

I am a big fan of Codemasters' racing games. After playing the amazing game 'DiRT', I wasnt able to stop myself but feel excited about GRID. Well, GRID dosen't let my expectations down as it's the best racing sim I have ever played. It's much better than the crappy NFS games and much more challenging than any other racing games out there.

Story (10/10) :-
Well there is no story as such, you name your player and choose his/her's nationality and then you have a single objective throughout the game and that is to reach the top!

Graphics (10/10) :-
Simply put, GRID has the best graphics in the racing genre. The details on every car on the race track is simply splendid. The crowd looks alive and the immediate ambience is also designed to perfection. The lightning is breath taking and the damage will simple please your eyes. I really loved the damage. Even the skid marks on the road are rendered to perfection. The reflections look splendid and overall, it's just perfect. It does need a fairly powerful system to run it on max though.

Gameplay (10/10) :-
Ah! The core of any game. GRID does not dissapoint here. It's a racing sim and it's perfect at that. Some may complain that the game is too hard but that's what realism is all about. You do need to invest some time to actually learn the game but afterwards, it's just awesome! You compete around the globe in America, Europe and Japan. Races range from circuit races to drifts, demolition derby and even time runs. There are plenty of cars which are detailed to perfection. After a certain point, you can choose a team-mate who will ride with you in a race. The physics of the game really make it fun to play and the AI is really good too. They will try to defend their position by any means. The game has enough races to keep you engaged for a good amount of time. The game even incorporates multiplayer which is fun and engaging. Overall, it's simply awesome!

Sound (10/10) :-
The audio is great. The roar of the engines are done well and all cars sound like they should. The music is also quite decent and the voice is also nice. Overall, its really great.

Final score :- 10/10
It does require some practice but once you get the hang of it, it's just the best racing sim! Go and buy it.
