"Robot Havoc!!!!!"
Gameplay-8/10
This is a futuristic fighting game involving life sized robots. Another classic game from Epic Mega Games. This is a game like Street Fighter II, only better in every single way. There are the basic fighting moves, and special moves for each robot. What is different from this game is that it is a real tournament. And there are four championship tournaments. Each robot moves from place to place, depending on whether they have lost or won the last few tournament fighting rounds. Another thing that singles this out from other fighting games is that you can upgrade, and by upgrade I mean buy, new items for your robot using the cash you won from the past robot fighting rounds. Another thing that differs this game from other fighting games is that there are different robots, and different robot controllers. What I mean is that each robot has a fighting style, and each robot controller has its own fighting style. This adds to the variety of the game. This game is hard though, and it is pretty much impossible to switch to a different robot. Only because it costs so much money and you have no upgrades with a new robot. So you will always be in the bottom rum of the tournament. The best robot in the game is the flail. But you start off with the jaguar. This was just one of the modes. Another mode was the basic arcade mode, which was significantly less fun than the tournament mode. In the arcade mode, you just keep fighting robot after robot. Retains fighting quality or tournament mode, but less easier and less fun.
Graphics-9/10
The graphics in this game were excellent. The detail is excellent. Especially the nuts and bolts flying out of the robots after each hit. The detail of each robot and the variety of each character is excellent. It is just another fine touch added to an already great fighting game. The moves are detailed too.
Audio-6/10
The music is not great. There is only a few tracks in this game. And they are not great. The sound effects, though are excellent. The hits every robot takes make a great metal crunching sound. You will just love it. The announcer is not great either.
Replay-8/10
The tournament mode will keep you coming back for more. It will take a long time too beat all four tournaments of tournament mode. The numerous upgrades, fights, and robots will force you to try out the game with each one. That is another fine touch added to the game. And learning a new move is very exciting after playing the game for a very long time.
Overall-9/10 (Not An Average)
The game will make you come back for more. The arcade mode is nothing special. The tournament mode is a unique addition to this game, and a unique addition to any fighting game. This game stands out among all fighting games in so many ways. If you can find it, play it. It is the best computer fighter out there.
