Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's Revenge
Review by Doodleheimer
"The opposite of hot is cold"
Game Play-
10/10
The game play in Monkey Island 2 retains the same features of Secret of Monkey Island, only better. There are so many more puzzles and items in Monkey Island 2, I could not believe it. Monkey Island 2 will always be known as the Monkey Island game with the most features. You have to get four map pieces scattered along three islands. The puzzles, I went from island to island when the solution to the puzzle was right under my nose. That is one of the charms of the Monkey Island games. The jokes in Monkey Island 2 are much better than the first; Some of them actually make me laugh. The game play in Monkey Island 2 is definitely an improvement over the first. But it still retains the Monkey Island standards. The story is a little hard to follow though, but the story usually does not matter to me.
Audio-
9/10
The audio is a great improvement over Secret of Monkey Island. The music in Monkey Island 2 is a lot more memorable and lively than Secret of Monkey Island. There are much more tunes and they match the scenery and surroundings very well. A lot of the music in Monkey Island 2 is reggae, which is a very nice touch because it seems to match the scenery very well. But I liked Secret of Monkey Island’s music more.
Graphics-
8/10
The graphics are not much of an improvement over the Secret of Monkey Island, but there is a little improvement. The backgrounds in Monkey Island 2 are the only graphical improvement over its predecessor. No deprovements to this game, though. The items are very detailed too, and I like detailed items. The different islands are very unique and detailed too.
Enjoyability-
9/10
The game is just like Secret of Monkey Island, and that’s a good thing. If you can find this, play it then.
Score-36/40
Overall-
9/10
I loved the Monkey Island games, and Monkey Island is no exception to this rule. In my opinion, Monkey Island 2 had the best puzzles over all the Monkey Island games. If you can find this, get it. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. I love this game, and I love everything about it. I have not played this game for over a year, because I am trying to forget how to solve the puzzles and reexperience the fun again. That is a good thing about Monkey Island games also, you cannot forget about them.
Street Price-$9.99
