Game Play-
9.7/10
Civilization presents a very unique concept. You start out as a small civilization. You must conquer the world while building onto your cities, discovering new inventions, keeping your citizens happy, maintaining your money and trying not to end up in dept or bankruptcy, while protecting your city from enemies, pirates, invaders, natural disasters, economic disasters, and enemy civilizations. And you get to choose from real civilizations also. I am always either the Americans, the Babylonians, the Mongols, or the Russians. And I just love building onto my cities.
I just love filling up my city space and then looking at it in awe. And the huge amount of items that you can build in your city is great also. Everything in Civilization is just so real, it is just so amazing. I am a master at Civilization, and I know pretty much everything about it. One bad thing though are those trivia questions the game asks you at the beginning. Luckily, after a while, you memorize the answers, so not that big of problem here. The control in Civilization is good, but hard to move in certain directions.
Control-
8.9/10
The control is near-perfect in this game. The only problem is figuring out the shortcut keys in this. But once you got that down, then you'll have a great time with this game. (How cheesy did that sound?)
Graphics-
9.1/10
The graphics in Civilization are great. The people, warriors, and artillery units are very unique and detailed. The items that you can build in your city are huge, numerous, and detailed. I always try to build as much stuff in my cities as I can. I have a budget you know. The graphics in Civilization are just freaking amazing and wonderful.
Audio-
6.7/10
There is very little music in Civilization. But, each different civilization you can control has its own music. Microprose used IBM music and sound effects instead of speaker music and sound effects. Jeers to Microprose on that thing. As I mentioned earlier in this review, Microprose used IBM music and sound effects. The sound effects in Civilization are good, but limited. Apparently the sound and music department is where Microprose neglected the most. But, Civilization was made like, ten years ago. So they had much limited technology back then in the old days of video and computer gaming.
Enjoyability-
10/10
Everything about Civilization will keep you coming back for more. Civilization is one of the best computer games ever made, and that is quite a hard title to achieve. There are many modes of difficulty, and many civilizations. I've beaten the game on every difficulty with every civilization.
Score Rundown
Game Play-9.7/10 - I have unlimited money. I suddenly feel so empty.
Control-8.9/10 - Setter to Chariot. Wait, the Chariot can only move diagonal. Civilization Arrgh!
Graphics-9.1/10 - Since when did a Granary look like a beehive?
Audio-6.7/10 - My speakers currently don't work, so this is all I got.
Enjoyability-10/10 - I made an ass groove in my chair.
Score-44.4/50
Percentage of Gaming Goodness-89%
Overall-

Doodleheimer's Recommendationitivity-
Buy this game if Civilization II won't work on your computer. The main problem is the computer sound effects, as I mentioned earlier, 'cause I know you don't pay attention to me.
