"Dark Reign 2 Is Simply Short Of Magnificent!"

Introduction:
Ah, Why Hello there boys and Girls. I just bought this game Called ''Dark Reign 2'' and Boy was I impressed. I, myself am a Big fan Of Real Time Strategy games (RTS) And I was a bit skeptical about this game. I usually played Star craft, Age of Empires II, and Total Annihilation. They were all good, but not that same ''Wow'' factor as you'd get in Dark Reign 2. And its not just the amazing visuals..... It is Much, Much, more. Read on, and I will take you on to all the game's factors. This is going to be a ''Descriptive'' review, compared to all my others.

Visuals:
Dark Reign 2 does not put you in a bland 2D world of bad Sprites. It is 3D, Three Gosh Darned Dimensional! You control Every ASPECT of the game's view. Zoom in, zoom out, rotate, you get the idea. You can zoom in so much that, You will, and I guarantee some of you will think that they are in the battle field. From Gun fire, to explosions, to watching units retreat. How Beautiful they all are. In certain Levels, The environment is so Perfect. You can see the foot prints of soldiers after they marched in the snow, or Tank imprints on the ground. Simply Magnificent.

Story Line:
In Dark Reign 2, the story is about Earth's revolution.
The ''JDA'' (Jovian Detention authority) and the ''Sprawlers'' are at war. It is the 25th, and final Century for mankind. A race for survival has occurred. (not much here.)

Sounds:
The sounds are Perfect. You can listen to the voices of the soldiers, the squeaking of the tank's treads, the humming of the Enforcer's jet pack, and a whole lot more. The music in the game is ''Funky'' with a Techno, electronic music mix. Very cool. It does not get annoying, and makes me want to pause the game and dance all night!...never mind that, Onward with the review. The voices in the cut scenes in missions are some of the best I have ever seen.... I mean heard!! Truly remarkable work done on the sound. My compliments to them.

Game play:
So this is what matters most. The Big Game play factor.
Dark Reign 2 is not that ingenious when it comes to game play. It is similar to about 7 other RTS out there. You get the same been there done that feeling. But some of the units in the game are very unique and original. ex. Jet pack flying enforcers, and the odd nuclear Juggernauts. There are 3 modes of play in the game. Campaign (mission mode.) I have not yet beaten the game, so I don't know how many missions there are. There is a good Skirmish mode of the game with good options, except it is missing the option to remove the Fog of War. And there is an online multi player mode. There were many problems with it, but the patches that came out fixed them all. (No more lobby crashes) The only other bad feature of the game is that the units sometimes miss a lot of shortcuts to their destination and go the longest way possible, but this is not a major flaw,
This game has no major flaws. And the unit capping in this game (max units) is 1000!!! not 200, 250, but yes 1000!!! amazing. This is truly a remarkable game, but not perfect.

Replay Factor:
Due to all the other great factors of this game, the replay factor will be the best. I could probably play this game for a year or more. Its that good!!!!! I LOVE IT! I LOOOVE IT!! I would give it an 11/10 If I could, but I give it-

Final Statement:
This is a truly profound RTS. I highly respect it. It provides entertainment for all General Wannabe people. I got this game for $19.95 At Comp USA. It was a good offer, and I love this game dearly. It is not perfect, yet I enjoy it. Not my favorite game, but it is a new step in RTS technology. This game is much better than Earth 2150, and I suggest it to all people. Go Grab your copy!
