Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe Series

"Finally! The WWII air comes to the PC!"

Hey everyone! this is my review for Combat Flight Simulator Europe series... and well, here I go on my first bombing run!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Abbreviations
RAF-Royal air force, Britain's air force
USAAF-America's air force
Flak- Anti aircraft fire, ranging from 20mm tracers, to massive 150mm cannons.

Terms
Luftwaffe-German air force
Battle of Britan- battle in 1940 that was Hitler's first setback.
BF 109E-Luftwaffe fighter that was used in the Battle of Britan

That's enough for now, to get a feel for everything.

Gameplay-The game has a real sense of realism, you take damage, protect the B-17's from getting killed, that stuff. But it's fun. Especially the Battle of Britain for the RAF. Also, nothin' spells fun like shooting down twelve BF 109E's over London!

Graphics-Hey, the graphics ain't nothin' to sneeze at (achoo!), but the ground and skies can be improved. I like the fighter design, but they lack one thing-the custom paint they had on the real planes. Honestly, The only thing worse looking than the ground is the clouds.

Difficulty-The game is impossible with the keyboard. You are safer actually fighting in the real planes! So, I completly, totally recommend to buy a joy stick. A hat switch is preferred. Other wise, read the manual, and you should do fine. Execpt on bombing runs(which you will never, never do).
With joystick- Easy to Medium
Without joystick-Hard to impossible

Replayiblity-This is compatible with Zone in Microsoft, there is a feature to use campaign, free flight, quick combat,single mission, and training. Also, you can send in planes from the origonal Flight Simulator, if you want to get yourself killed for fun. Besides that, there are few options for you.

Sound-You hear gun, cannon, rocket, and bomb sounds, and the engine. But, these can be repitive, so these aren't a welcome sight. Especially if they are from the enemy. So, this is probaly the most annoying part of the game.

Overall rating-9, rounded to ... 9! for gamefaqs standards.

Final comments-Seriously, I strongly recommend to get a joy stick, i can't stress it enough. Oh yeah, this game is a definite buyer! The game, other than the sound, has no weak points, and is a blast to play, except when you plane dives nose-first into the ground at four hundred miles an hour with a fire that is slowly reaching your 2000hp engine, then that's unpleasant.
