Final Fantasy VII
Review by Psycho Penguin
"Final Fantasy 7 on the PC!!! What could go wrong? Well, you'd be surprised.."
Remember that game for the Playstation? Final fantasy 7 (try to remember :) The game that changed the face of video gaming forever? Well guess what, it was released for the PC, and is better on the PC despite the control.
GRAPHICS 3/10
The graphics in Final Fantasy 7 are not very good. The characters during battle look like stick figures. The full motion videos in
the game are pretty solid but have been surpassed. The blurry graphics make things hard to see and confusing. i think my friend
best summed it up when he said, "These graphics are horrible!!!"
GAMEPLAY 10/10
The gameplay in Final Fantasy 7 is almost as good as the classic gameplay in Final Fantasy 3. While the materia system overall
is not as good as the esper system in final fantasy 3, it still had its advantages. For one, you can equip several materia at one
time, the number of slots and materia growth is determined by the weapon you equip. Each weapon has a different amount of
materia growth and materia slots, which brings a strategic elemt to the game. For instance, would you rather equip a weapon
with 54 attack power with 8 linked materia slots or a weapon with 72 attack power and 4 unlinked slots? The decisions add a
variety to Final Fantasy 7 that has yet to be outdone.
CONTROL 11/10
I have found no control with the control whatsoever.
FUN FACTOR 10/10
Despite the stupid characters and storyline, Final Fantasy 7 is classic, and the extra CD is a cool addition to the International
version. What can I say? If you have yet to play Final Fantasy 7 (GASP!!) and can read Japanese decently, get the
PC version instead!! (its better than the PSX version)
