Final Doom
Review by DoofyDude
"Say goodbye to the grandpappy of all 3D shooters"
Doom was always remembered as the grandpappy of all 3D shooters even though it wasn't the first. Since Doom has aged a bit, they made one last 32-bit Doom game, Final Doom.
Gameplay (8/10)
Same as the previous Doom games. You go around and shoot monsters and find keys to unlock doors and so on. There are no new weapons and no new monsters but there are 64 new frightning and most difficult levels. So you can just call this game an add-on to Doom 2 since this game has basically the same things from Doom 2.
Graphics (7/10)
The same as the previous Doom game's graphics. You are in a 3D enviroment but a lot of the stuff in this game are in 2D like the items you pick up and the monsters you shoot.
Music and Sound (7/10)
Again the same as the previous Doom games. All of the sounds for the weapons shooting, the monsters roaring, you picking up items, you opening doors, you fliping switches, you geting hurt and everything else sound great and the same. The songs for the levels are mostly from Doom 2 but there are some songs from Doom 1.
Story (8/10)
Finally something that's not the same as the previous Doom games. There's two different stories since there's 2 wads, TNT and Plutonia. In TNT: Evilution, hell once again goes onto Earth. It's up to you to stop the evil unleashed again. In The Plutonia Experiment, the US doesn't want anything like what happened in Doom 2 to happen again. So they send you to the moons of Mars again to check it out.
Control 8/10
Once again, the same as the previous Doom games. The controls aren't that simple to a beginner but you do get used to the controls and you can use a controller, a mouse, or a joystick. When using the keyboard, Ctrl is to shoot, Shift is to run, the arrow keys are to move, Space is to open doors, Tab is to view the map, the numbers are to choose weapons, and there's a whole lot of other the controls. You can also change the controls.
Replayability (8/10)
The game is so difficult that you'll be playing this game for years to come unless you are one of the greatest Doomers out there or if you use the cheats. It's also sort of two games in one since it has two wads, each one having 32 levels in them. There's the multi-player which can have up to 8 players. You can play deathmatch or co-operative in multi-player.
Overall (8/10)
There's nothing really new in Final Doom except for it's levels and stories. If you didn't play Doom 2, the stuff would be new to you. And this game is indeed the best of all Doom games. End of story.
