Championship Manager 2
Review by Millers C
"Easily The Best Management Sim Ever."
Championship manager 2 is the latest in the superb Championship Manager Series. Even people who have no Interest In Football (Or Soccer) will like this Game. It’s so easy to get into supremely Playable and ultimately rewarding.
Game play- this being the most important aspect of the game is also the best part of the game. For many people who aspire to be the next sir Alex Ferguson, manager games on offer have been full with long screens, bars and long loading times. Championship manager takes these flaws, fixes them and even has time to surpass them. The loading times are superb. It takes about 4 minutes with a moderately quick processor to Install load up and start a Game. The game is constructed with easy to read menus and buttons that you can go to in order to access the important parts of the game. There is a superb Quick search engine with which to find that all-important top man to take you up the divisions. The matches are very easy to get into and you can see the action and find out who is doing well and who should be dropped from the team. I enjoyed these parts of the game most because I could easily see How to do well in this game. Another superb feature is the Transfer System. Players can be loaned, Bought or Released depending on what you’re looking for. The game is not stupid However, The Best Players Will want to go to Liverpool and Blackburn and will Rebuff offers from Barnet and Lincoln. There is also relegation from the league and promotion so The Minnows will get their chance.
10/10.
Story- This Is a sports game so no story is really required however all your boyhood dreams of managing your hometown club can finally be realized with this game.
5/10.
Graphics- There is some neat and tidy Menus and the Data Is Presented in Very easy To Read Tables And Columns. The matches have some Nice Stills of Grounds and sometimes you’ll fell your there. But apart from that you don’t see your players so I can only give this 4 out of 10.
Sound- If you like adventure games you’ll feel lonely here. There is hardly any speech in the game, only a few comments From The Superb Gerald Sinstadt ‘He’s Scored’ and ‘Superb Cross, The manager will be pleased with him!’ are roared out every so often.
There is also no music in the game and I felt that could be a worthy addition for a future game. But then again you don’t buy a game for the sound.
5/10.
Replay ability- the second best Feature of the game, as you will end up playing for seasons and seasons. There are also opportunities to change clubs as well as you move up the managerial ladder and eventually to the coveted Top Jobs. You could be playing this game for years if you watch every match. Another Interesting feature Is You can Go on holiday and watch from the sidelines as your players try to sweat out results. Brilliant.
8/10.
I strongly recommend this game to anybody who owns a PC Who Has Even a remote interest in Football Because this game is Engrossing, easy To Pick Up, Will last for seasons and The best part-it can run on low spec Computers.
