The graphics in this game are pretty good for its time. Simple stuff, really, but they get the point across. You won't confuse ,say, a Warrior with a Chariot, and the units all do look different. Of course, they still are kind of jagged around the edges and such, but what did you expect, PlayStation 2 quaility graphics? There are newer games with better graphics in them, but they just don't have the same charm as Civilization II.

The controls of this game are very simple, you use the mouse and keyboard to move and select units. My only beef with the controls is that sometimes you can't land on the spot you want to, but when it happens it isn't that big of a deal. The controls serve their purpose, they allow you to move around and make decisions, which are the only things that you need them for.

Sound: 9
I may speak for myself on this one, but I really like the music in this game. I think that it does a good job of setting the mood. Also, the sound effects are decent, they aren't really anything to write home about. But the two strongest points of this game are:

Gameplay: 10
This is where Civilization II really shines! There are numerous things that you can do in this game. Feel like trying to conquer the world through diplomacy? Go right ahead! Want to conquer the world through action, battle, and wars? You can do that too! There are literally TONs of things that you can do in this game! It has plenty of different Civilizations, and a large amount of units for any situation, things ranging from Horseback riders and archers to Spy Planes and Nukes. You can even go into space if you want!

Replayability:10
This game has unlimited replayability! Once you beat it one way, you'll want to beat it again using different methods. This game is one of those rare games where you can have a huge marathon, and still not be sick of it at the end! Simply put, you will play this game for a very, VERY LONG TIME!
