Warcraft II: Beyond the Dark Portal

"Could Blizzard ever again make a game so predictable?"

Intro: The game Warcraft 2:Beyond the Dark Portal is truly unoriginal and predictible game. This Review is here to warn people to think twice before it. It is fun for a little while but will get old and repetitive after a few days of gameplay. I truly wish I had not wasted my money on this game.

Story: I can tell you a whole lot about Warcraft without reaviling the entire stinkin plot. Its just the second war between man and orc with some cool graphics at the opening sceen. The green, blood happy orcs and the tattered humans are at it again.

Gameplay: To tell you the truth Warcraft is a game in which buildings are built to train units or upgrade them for things like armor and weapons or special abbilities like ''Bloodlust'' or ''Exsorcism.'' Each unit in a race has a name that is different than its counterpart in the other race but the only thing that really makes them different is there upgrading levels. For instance, an ''Elven Archer'' and a ''Goblin Axe Thrower'' are exact match ups unless one is level 2 and the other is level 7. It is too matched up for my taste.

Playing Your Friends: To take all those maps you have made and let other people tinker around with them connect to the internet and get on Battle.net. You can play or talk and it is loads of fun to play with your friends. I reccomend getting online whenever possible. It is one of the only ways you can have real fun with Warcraft.

Making a Map: Warcraft 2 has a feature in which one who has too much time on their hads can spend hours perfecting a map. Your options are very limited and there is not much you can do in the way of making a special map called an RPG (Role Playing Game). It may be worth it to some people but I simply dont like to bother with makeing a map. I like to leave that long task to other people.

Conclusion: When you are in the mall and wanting to a video games please think twice about buying Warcraft. If there is one thing I can give Blizzard credit for on this one it is advertisement. They did a great job of makeing look fun and cool to buy. DON'T BUY INTO IT. You will regret it if you do.
