"Great-If you like the genre!"
People dislike this game because it is, boring at the start, too long etc. Well this is an adventure game, and will not appeal to people other than adventure gamers. The game does start of slow, but once the storm clears things really start to pick up and that's not even one tenth through the game.
The reason I really enjoyed this game is for how long it is, it takes a good sixty hours to complete because of you dying and replaying, or just getting stuck. The control good use some work, but the game isn't centered around combat so you should get by this fairly quickly.
The graphics are amazing, and the characters move flawlessly throughout the huge 3D worlds, if you turn frame rate on, this game moves at around 311.9 fps WITHOUT a 3D card on a Pentuim 2.
The story does start off slow, but like I said quickly picks up. You will travel to many different places, including three different worlds, Twinsun, your homeworld. Zeelich, the hostile alien world which includes two layers, the surface and core, you'll spend most of your time at this world collecting items, and running from the imperial gaurds. And lastly the Moon, this is a very small area, not even a world, but the graphics here rock and the reduced gravity add some neat slow motion battles.
The game offers many weapons including ray gun, sword, magic ball, fists, darts etc. also hundreds of different characters to interact with. Including aliens, bugs, dinosaurs, turtles, police, evil dogs, robots, the list goes on. With each new world and event the music changes the atmoshpere adding a great feeling of an epic odyssey.
The cool thing about this game is that once you accomplish something you think your done but that's only the beginning and must go on another quest. The game is broken up into little tasks which make up a larger and darker plot. It has you battling robots, getting through gaurds, all in search of the four ancient keys and the elusive dark monk, I don;t want to give anything away just go play this game if you enjoy good graphics and adventure. You will not be disapointed!
Final Word: You don't need a super computer, or a huge budget, just a love for long adventure games to enjoy this one a lot.
