"It's good to be bad..."

Dig out your underground kingdom. Populate your dungeon with a variety of beasts - such as the Skeletons, Dark Elves, Trolls, and evil Warlocks. Prepare them for battle with training rooms, workshops, and magical libraries. Command your hordes in frenzied battles against the invading forces of heroic good. Summon the dreaded Horned Reaper to deliver the final knockout blow to help complete your evil quest.

Dungeon Keeper 2 is the sequel to the hugely popular Dungeon Keeper, released in 1997. I first played DK1 at my aunt's and after that, was very addicted to it. She ended up giving it to me, and soon after that, I heard about DK2. I searched the stores and when I found it, quickly bought it. When I played it, I found that I wasn't disappointed in it at all!

Pros

The graphics are a significant improvement from it's predecessor, DK1. The movies shown at the end of each level are of top quality and the intro, like DK1's, is awesome and not to be missed.

The sound is crisp and clear, most of the time. Everything from the grunts of your minions as you hold them above your underground world with the hand of evil to the war cries of the goodly heroes you face in an effort to rid your home of the pests.

The gameplay is superb. Many things have been added since DK1. Things like a casino to relax and keep your creatures good-humoured in(not to mention fill your pockets with their cash) and a combat pit where you can raise your creatures to the maximum combat level of 10(also an entertaining sport for spectators). In the casino, your creatures can win the jackpot, which will make the song 'Disco Inferno' play and you can watch your creatures dance a nice little jig... and then watch your money go down from the jackpot winnings...

The replay value's not that bad either. There are many secret areas and magical items hidden in the underground levels of DK2, and you may just want to go back and get them; plus, there are some secret levels too.

The game is very easily learned. With the 'My Pet Dungeon' option, you can learn how to set up a detailed and greatly-made dungeon and how to place your rooms, dig out areas, etc..

Cons

The levels can sometimes get a tad bit repetitive!

The bottom line is, DK2 is a great twist on your average RPG/Simulation game, where you're the villain who is supposed to be slain by the good guys. Who says heroes always win?
