Escape from Monkey Island

"Funny dork!"

OPENING STATEMENT:
This game is funny! You don't usually see games that are funny and work really well like this. This is one of my favorite PC games, this is why...

GAMEPLAY:7/10
This is good. Monkey Island 4 is a puzzle game. You go around a few islands looking for things to help you out with your needs. It isn't complicated, you just look around for useful things and solve puzzles. The things that Guybrush(the main character)says are hilarious! Some of the people and situations are funny too. The thing is that Guybrush usually only uses common household things to complete his hard task.

GRAPHICS:8/10
The graphics are pretty good. The characters look good, the backrounds are very well done, and the buildigs look cool. I don't know what else to say about the graphics, other than, there really good.

MUSIC:9/10
SOUND:9/10
The music is very good. It sounds very piratey because you are a pirate. The music changes in different places very well, like when you go to the gloomy swamp then, then you have mysterious music, then beautiful music.
The sound is well done. The people talk very well, other things like when a coconut hits you on the head, or boulders rolling, sound good too. The sounds are very clear and understandable. Everything sounds very realistic and is well done

CONTROL:7/10
The controls take some getting used to, but they aren't bad. You walk by pressing the arrow keys, run by pressing shift and the arrow keys, pause by using the spacebar, go through a menu of things by using the page up and page down buttons, press insert to look at your inventory, press U to mix two items together, enter to pick an item, F1 to go to the main menu, and enter to talk, pick things up, use items, and look at things. The only problem with the controls is that sometimes when you have to look directly at something Guybrush won't turn right. After a while you get used to the controls.

STORY:9/10
The story is funny, and confusing. If you don't want to here it... WARNING ...now you have been warned. Since it is really long I will just shorten it. Guybrush and his new wife are coming back from their very long honeymoon, get attacked by pirates, you beat them, get back and discover that you have been gone on honeymoon so long that everyone thinks you are dead, and your wife who was the governor, is also thought dead and is no longer entitled to her life long term. There is some Charles guy who is actually he evil zombie ghost pirate Le Chuck in disguise, who is running for the upcoming election real soon. They are destroying your mansion when you get back, stop them, go to your wife's family lawyers to prove that she is not dead while your wife is getting ready for the election. The lawyers tell you that you have to get the deed to the mansion, get it after a very long time, then look for the Ultimate insulte thing, get it. Then go home and Le Chuck sends you to the suposedly unescapable Monkey Island again. You escape, beat Le chuck and your done.....
That was an extremely shortened story, the game has a very long story compared to the main idea.

FUN:10/10
Hands down the best part of the game. The puns are histerical! The way the game all goes together is amazing, I am not sure how good the other games were but I love this one! And good for this game, fun is the most important part of any game.

CHALENGE:HARD
The game has some puzzels that really make you want to look at some of the faqs. Some parts of the game are real easy, some will have you puzzled for hours, and then when you find the secret you can't believe you didn't think of that earlier. A fairly difficult game(I like that).

REPLAYABILITY:2
The only part that got a bad score, but that's what it's like with most puzzle games. Like all puzzle games there isn't really much use in playing it again unless you forget all about what happened.
