Black & White: Creature Isle

Review by Thor Black

"Lacks the luster of the original"

I loved the original Black and white. The intelligent AI, the amazing graphics, the original game-play, and the townspeople's cities were a work of art in it's own way as you tried to create an ''Eden'' in Eden. I especially enjoyed the creature's, the best part of the game, so I was excited to get Black and White Creature Isles, yet... I played it and was disappointed.

Story line 3/10
The story is this: This lion creature's god was destroyed, so he tried to end his life by drowning, but was rescued by a crocodile. They formed a brotherhood on this island to keep out creatures who would do them harm by having them complete trials. After you complete the trials, you can join the brotherhood and meet Eve, a female creature.
One word- WEAK!
I am an unpublished writer and I find this story-line to be a little weak. It's okay for a game, though, but it could have had more, and needs more.

Graphics- 8/10
The graphics are as good as ever. The people are a little blocky, but that's okay, since the creatures are wonderful. When they talk though, it makes me laugh how their eyes pop up and down.

Sound- 7/10
The sound is okay, but a little annoying at times. For example: Farts of your creature trying to poop. Annoying sailors, and the people crying ''Need Food!'' The demon and angel conscious are funny, brilliant voices. The creatures voices are a little funky, though.

Replay Value- 5/10
Not much of a replay value, but you still can make your creature good or evil, raise the chicken apprentice in a different way, organize your town, but I would not like to repeat the brotherhood trials, for I find them boring.

Gameplay- 6/10
This is why I gave the game a six. It's no way as fun as the other Black and White, since you have to complete trials such as bowling with a cow, herding sheep, and watching over a garden. They are very boring and hard. Bowling is less than fun, herding sheep is very very hard, and watching over a garden for countless hours is like... what? Why did you put THAT in a game!?
The chicken is kinda cool. You find an egg and hatch it in a volcanic pool, and you get this funny chicken that follows your creature around. It was so cool when my creature was dancing with my creature, but watching after Tyke, the name of the chicken, gets old after a while.
I think the programmers should have left the games out altogether, but hey, can't have all things in life. Anyway...
I give this game a 6. It's a good game, but lacks what the first one had.
