RollerCoaster Tycoon: Loopy Landscapes
Review by Falconaire1238
"Just keeps getting better and better."
Roller Coaster Tycoon is like the Sim City 3000 for theme parks. The first one was great, the second better, and the third time is a charm. Anyway, lets continue on
Gameplay-10/10- The controls are quite simple, and making custom tracks can be a little tricky at first, but you get used to it. There are many features that make this a really accurate simulation, such as taking out loans, interest, setting up ad campaigns, ride break-downs, ride crashes, staff wages, and purchasing land/construction rights. It can't get much better than this, and hopefully they will add another expansion.
Story line- There really isn't one, its just a bunch of different scenarios, each with different goals, money, terrain, and certain conditions. For example, some have rides that must be completed with a certain rating, one has you trying to keep a high park rating while giving you unlimited money, and other things of the like.
Sound-8/10- The music is of good quality, and has decent tunes to it(with an exception to the song at the main menu) You can turn the music on and off, and have each ride play a different tune. The sound is really good, except that when you have a lot of people in your park, they start to be loud and annoying. The ride sounds are good, like with the roller coasters, you get different sounds for different speeds and the such. Overall, excellent quality sound with a few faults
Graphics-9/10- The graphics are really good, each person is different in the way that they look(except for the fact that they all have brown hair) and do different things for different situations. For example, when you win they all look at you and clap; or when they have to go to the bathroom, take a guess; when they get off a nauseating ride, they barf all over the place(you definitely need to pay the handymen more); breaking stuff like your nice benches when they get angry, and other things like that. When they go on a roller coaster, you can see the shoulder restraints coming down, and I very nearly went insane watching all the go-kart races. I only have two complaints for this section, one is that the terrain is too blocky, they could round it out a little more. The other is that when you put on see through rides, the roller coaster cars DON'T HAVE ANY WHEELS.
Replayability- 10/10- I play each level over and over again, there are so many different things that you can do. There is a virtually unlimited amount of roller coasters that you can make, as well as all the other rides.
Buy/Rent/''Borrow'' from a friend- Since you need the two versions before it to use it, I would recommend mooching the game off a friend, but for the honest people buy the original then the Loopy Landscapes expansion(it comes with the corkscrew follies pack) Where I live, it cost a total of 70$, or 100$ of you bought all three.
Overall 10/10- Its just a really fun game that is satisfying to play. Admit it, it would be entertaining to put all the ignorant kids from school on the most intense roller coaster that you can make, then watch them puke their guts out when they are done(or if it is intense enough, watch them pass out, my best coaster went 212 mph with 27 G-Forces)
