Warcraft II: Battle.net Edition

Review by TheOnlyZeon

"One of the Best! Dont pass this up!"

When I first bought this game, way back in 1996, it was by far the coolest game I had ever seen. And guess what? It still ranks up there. Sure, some may say, ''Oh, Starcraft is so much better. Why play Warcraft? The graphics suck!'' Dont listen to them, for god's sake. They're just hypocritical idiots who have never played Warcraft or havent for a long long time. This is what started RTS's coming into the spotlight. It's history, plain and simple.

Graphics- 8/10
Okay, so maybe the troops are a little cartoony. And the blood. And the buildings. And the trees. And the everything else.

Sound- 10/10
Great! Some of the best I have ever heard in a game, truly. Just wait 'til you hear the ogre. ''We're ready, sir! Im not ready!'':P

Story- 10/10
It's Blizzard! I have yet to see anything by Blizzard without an amazing storyline. Just read the manual for this game. Detailed stories for how everything came together. Ill try to give a synopsis...

On the barren world of the Orcs, they finally conquer the last of their pitiful neighbors. A farming people, they arent much to sate the hunger of the Horde. Unrest grows until a civil war seems immenent. Then the warlock Gul'dan contacts an ancient deamon. Learning many secrets, he becomes the strongest Warlock ever. At this point, a mage from a place called earth contacts Gul'dan. His name is Medivh. Medivh wants to find the ''Tomb of Sargeras,'' or the last resting place of the greatest of the deamons. Agreeing to help Medivh, Gul'dan gathers an army. The magi on earth opens a portal for the Horde, and the orcs pour through.

The first assault on the human castles failed miserably. Humans mounted on horses decimated the Orcish legions. The green dudes were forced back to their portal. This was the start of the first Warcraft game. In a series of battles, the Orcs nearly completely destroy the nation of Azeroth. The survivers flee to the nation of Lordaeron. In Lordaeron, Lord Lothar, leader of Azeroth, peruades many nations to come together, including the enigmatic dwarves and the mysterious elves. This alliance stands ready to combat the evil Orcish Hordes decending upon the lands...

Pretty good, huh?

Gameplay- 10/10
So much fun to play, its amazing. But you HAVE to play on B.Net. That's the way to have fun w/ the game. Single player's ok, but it gets old. I should know. I had the original (non-B.Net) edition for five years before upgrading. Now that ive gotten this version, I CANT GET OFF OF BATTLE NET!!! SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!

Over all, this is definitely worth your money, especially seeing as its only like 10 bucks now.

Overall- 10/10
