Blair Witch Volume 1: Rustin Parr

"A really scary game that makes you think!"

First off this is a review for Blair Witch Volume One and I will show what are the ups and downs of Blair Witch One. The Categories are graphics, sound, controls, gameplay, and the verdict.

Graphics: (8) First off, the graphics come from the prelude Nocturnal, so it is using the engine of Nocturnal. Even though it doesn't even compare to the Resident Evil games, it still has its kind of awesome look. The character models and the enemies look fantastic, they look really realistic for its time. The monsters look espescially scary, and are even scarier with the music.

Sound: (10) Sound in Blair Witch Volume One is the most scariest in any game. When I first played through I had cheats on because the game is hard. Even though I had cheats on the music still scared me, thats why most of the game I muted the music in fear of a monster talking to me.( I know that sounds weird but it does.) The voice-overs are pretty good, it makes perfect sense with the perfect voice-overs. I personally liked the voice-over of Stranger, he was awesome, I can't wait and play with him in Nocturnal.

Controls:(6)Even though the controls can be modified, it still sucks, thats why I gave it a 7. Wanna know why? Because the controls are so jurky. It's controls are too sesitive, because when you move it moves even faster. Don't even remind me about the turns, it is so hard to avoid the zombies and monsters, I wish they had better controls.

Gameplay: (10) This is one of the main high points of the game. It takes strategy to avoid zombies and conserve your ammo, I learned that while playing the game. The puzzles are medicore, but sometimes puzzling. That is why I used a strategy guide through the game. When I first played through it was f*cking freaky. It was also super scary at the same time.

Verdict: (9) The verdict of this game, I give it a 9. It all makes perfect sense. Everything makes this game even more better to play. I would say you should buy this game if you like PC survival horror games. One last thing I like about this game is it is PC exclusive, thats what I like the most.
