"One of the best MODs for Half-Life"

Team Fortress started off life as a very popular MOD for Quake, but when Quake died the creators chose Half-Life as its new engine.

Well considering this game was made quite a few years ago I would say the graphics were good for their time. But for our time it isn't. But still the visuals are still pretty good and somewhat realistic. Don't expect them to be spectacular though.

Sound : 5

Not a strong point for TFC. The sound of the guns are sick as hell. The explosions from repeated spam get annoying. But all in all sound isn't what makes a game good.

Controls : 10

The controls are easy as hell to learn. The controls are crisp and very responsive. If you hate them you can customize them to your liking. Aiming might be hard if you are new to FPS on the PC but you will get used to it. No complaints here.

Gameplay : 9

When you start TFC you choose either Red/Blue and then choose your class. The classes are Scout, Sniper, Soldier, Demolition Man, Medic, Heavy Weapons Guy, Spy, Pyro, and the engineer. Each class has a specific job to do. Like an engineer would stay in the base and build sentry guns to protect it. But the soldier will most likely be going inside the enemy base to do his thing. And the medic would go around healing his team etc. There is a slight imbalance in the classes however. Like the pyro class is a very useless class because it just cant deal enough damage like the other offensive classes, and therefore is rarely used. And the heavy weapons guy is a power horse. He could rain the a hail of bullets to any target and win most of the time. But all in all its ok. Most people in the game do like to 'spam' grenades into a choke point over and over to kill stuff and it gets really annoying. But even with all of these flaws TFC is still playable since it is VERY fun.

This is the category in which most games fail in. But however TFC is a true gem. Its on online MOD so you will a lot of fun playing with people over the internet. And since the game itself is fun you will be playing for a very, very long time. I could go on and on but why don't you try it for yourself.

Rent or Buy?

This game comes free if you buy Half-Life. Some Half-Life versions don't come with it but all you have to do is download it. So as long as you have Half-Life you could play this MOD. Definitely GET IT NOW!!!

This game kicks ass in almost all categories and is well worth a download. GO GET IT NOW!!!
