Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
Review by Lethal Weapon
"LucasArts suceeds with Indiana Jones once again!"
Now, I am a fan of the Indiana Jones movies and games. I first played Fate Of Atlantis about 3 years ago on an Mac computer. But a few weeks later that computer got screwed. It was nearly 2 years before I began to think about it again and I got it for PC on LucasArts' site for 20 dollers. Well on with the review!
Graphics 8.7/10: Now, this game was made 10 years ago weren't that great compared to today's standards. However, back in '92 the graphics were superb in my opinion. Most of the graphics are better than the graphics that were considered ''good'' in 1992. However sometimes you can't see what things are because of the small resolution. One time I saw a tree and I saw a light green part and I thought it was part of the tree but it was a parrot.
Gameplay 9.1/10: Now, you could probably call me a half old school, half new school gamer. But, for some reason I play old school games more. I have played a lot of games that were made in 1992 and I must say that FOA's gameplay really stands out from other '92 games gameplay. You are Indy and you are searching for ''The Lost Dialog of Plato''. If you have never played this game before you may find it a little bit challenging but you'll get the hang of it.
Sound 10/10: A lot of the sound in this game is superb. However, you may have some problems getting the voice to work. (I did) I must say, the voice was worth going through hell to get it to work. The voice almost sounds like today's games. Even if you can't get the voice to work the DOS sounds are also good. Yes I'm talking about the beeps old games make such as this one.
Storyline 7.5/10: This is where the game drops down a bit but not much. Besides, I believe the storyline isn't the heart of the game. The gameplay is. You are Indiana Jones of Barnett College and you are searching for the hidden city of Atlantis. Umm, that's about it.
Replay Value 9.3/10.0: There are 3 ways to beat this game. But, I won't tell you or else this review probably won't be posted. Besides, In My Opinion it's always fun to play the old school games that inspired the games we have today.
