"This game is the greatest PC RPG! (and if you don't like it you should get your head examined!)"
This is my favorite PC RPG.
This is a sequel to ''Fallout: A Post Nuclear Adventure''.
FREEDOM (this game has the most freedom that most RPGs)
In Fallout 2, you start out by choosing a pre-made character, or creating one of your own, or adjusting a pre-made character. You can do an quests that you have, in any order you want, and if you don't want to do the quest, you don't have to. ***See Game play for more on Freedom***
Game play
This game is great in many ways. Not only do you have complete freedom of what your character does, your choices in the game affect the town's people and sometime other towns. If you didn't like a certain NPC (Non Playable Character), you could pull out your knife, or gun, and kill that person. Some people that you kill make you ''Idolized'' (or a hero) in the town; others that you kill could make you ''Vilified'' (or hated). If your character has a high intelligence, you will be able to talk to people, more fluently, than if your intelligence was low, you may only be able to grunt. You can choose to be good, and do good things for good people, or you can be evil and do evil things for evil people. But remember if you are good, bad people will not like you, and visa-versa.
Sound
The sounds in that game, fit perfectly, with what happens. If you shoot you gun, it will make a ''shooting'' sound. The background music (or town's music) isn't ''godly'', but it is good enough.
Graphics
In Fallout 2, you won't get perfectly rounded objects, but since when did it take graphics to make a game great?!
I think the graphics in this game are great, but if you have played a game like Final Fantasy X, you may be disappointed. The graphics closely resemble Diablo (or Diablo 2) graphics.
Story
The story to this game is GREAT! 'Nuff said.
Replay Value
This game has more replay value than you can imagine. You could go through the game 1,000 times just to play as different characters. Some of the different characters you might want to be: cowboy, scientist, porn star, bar fighter, or you average ''Joe''. There are different endings for each town, in the game. Different things that you do will affect the endings. I think that there are four endings for each town, or about that many.
Overall
This game is great no matter how you look at it!
Rent or Buy
BUY!
If you could rent PC games, I would still say buy it!
