"Quite possibly the greatest PC game I've ever played..."

I try not to give games a 10,but I can't help it with this game. It's simply incredible, a masterpiece, what else is to be said? Fallout 2 was made a few years ago and can be picked up at your local Wal-Mart for 10 bucks, and it comes with the also extremely excellent Fallout 1. A deal that you should be picked up,no matter what.

Graphics:

For the time they were made, they were decent. They were not made flashy on purpose, and the art work is very good. The monsters look interesting, the towns look convincing. The characters look the same pretty much, there are only a few different models of humans in towns..my only complaint really.I personally don't care about graphics, as long as I can see them clearly and tell what they are.

Sound:

It has a deep score, and there are plenty of sound effects. You shoot a shotgun, there is a loud BOOM. The bullet hits someone, they grunt. There is also voice acting for the ''important'' characters in the game, and it is quite excellent voice acting also.

Control:

I can't really think of a better way of doing it, I just wish there were some hotkeys and such. My only complaint. They use the left and right mouse buttons very nicely with switching tasks. Left click for moving and right click to observe things and do actions. Very nice.

Gameplay:

Oh boy. It's incredible how they packed so much on 1 CD (and,I might add,you can play without the CD). There are around 100 quests, lots of weapons, lots of items, just lots of stuff. You can get married, you can get a car, you can get 5 NPC's at a time that fight alongside you.

Let's say you see a soldier that's by a gate of a city that has a really nice gun.You want the gun.So you whip out your weapon, kill him,and you take it.You can do this with any character in the game, like Morrowind. A very good addition to the game. And another tremendous part of the game is Karma - each town has a certain ''karma'' towards you. You may be idolized, you may be hated, you just may be admired, or people may not know you. And it's great to have a little thing on how many of each thing you've killed (how many kids you've killed, how many men, how many dogs, etc).

Replay:

LOTS. I've played the game through as a man and a woman, reason enough to play it through again because different events can happen depending on your gender.

Buy or Rent?:

Well. You can't rent computer games, but this isn't the kind of game you rent. Just buy it for 10 bucks and you get another classic with it.

Overall:

It was ranked in the top 10 PC games of all time from PC Gamer, so it must be good. I loved the game because I love RPG's,and I'm not going to tell you the plot because it is quite excellent and you should find it out yourself (you are in California in a post nuclear war environment).

Pros:
So many options...
Play without CD
Good replay amount
You can do about anything

Cons:
Graphics could be better
Umm..uh..It could be a bit longer I guess.
