Dark Ages

"The Only MMORPG which became my world"

Being a Nexon and a MMORPG fan, I had to make a review about this game.

When I first played Dark Ages I had played a bundle of other MMORPG's, but none really seemed appealing to me. But this game really became my world. Although there are cheaters, hackers and trouble-makers, these do not completely ruin the game as many people say so. In fact,I personally believe it makes it more interesting to have political and religious wars with corruption, sneaking, spying and all that, it can be loads of fun. Now on to the real review.

Graphics- 8/10
although the graphics of this game are nowhere near the quality of graphics of new games, they fit perfectly the world, and that is what they are there for. NPC's look a bit too much alike, but then almost all game's NPC's look alike. The graphics are 2D and look a lot like a SNES game with a little bit better graphics.

Gameplay- 8/10
There's nothing to reproach to the gameplay. Its simple and effective. The only downside is that it is mind-numbing to press on the spacebar all the time, or to cast a few spells. But then again, many games *diablo* have mind-numbing fighting systems.

Sound- 2/10
Apart the slash of your sword and about 2 different sound for spells, there is no other sound.

Music- 7/10
Although I am not big on music, the music in Dark Ages is good, and not too annoying. Sometimes the music is not appropriate to the place, but usually it fits in the mood. Too bad there was not some special music for fights.

Story- 10/10
A MMORPG with a STORY? Sure! This game is based on Celtic legends and H.P.Lovecraft stories (more exactly: The Dream Quest of Unknown Kadath) If you do read the story, and everything about the religion, you will see the story is very deep, and is excellent. Too bad most people don't care about the story because this is an online game.

Player support/Company Input- 1/10
Yes, the company hardly does anything for the game. They let the players ruin it or make it glorious. Although this IS fun, when there is massive hacking and cheating, the company SHOULD do something.

If you ask me, this game is great, but it has flaws. Some people in the community are amazing, the other are jerks. But to wrap it up- this is the best MMORPG I have ever played, and I have played many of them.
