"A bit dated but still one of my all time favorites!"

Back in 1996 Tomb Raider was first released (i think). I did not start playing the series until about the year 2001. That means that when I played it, it was just as dated then as it is now.

Graphics:7/10
Well the graphics are pretty bad... now. They were probably pretty good at the time. The characters are a bit blocky but you can tell what they are. The areas look O.K. and some are quite cool ranging from the underground, dark, erie, sewer Cistern to the sandy, Egyption City of Khamoon.
All together decent graphics.

Plot:8/10
Pretty cool plot. Lara is offered to go adventering in a cave were she stumbles upon the ancient artifact Scion. She soon finds out there are 2 more pieces of it and goes searching for them. They then turn out to be the way to get into the lost city of Atlantis (Atlantis looks different here than in the Disney movie). There is some other details that I don't want to give away but it is very good.

Gameplay:9/10
CLIMB, CLIMB, CLIMB! Yes there is a LOT of jumping and climbing. There is also some running, swiming, and shooting. The controls are very good and easy to get the hang of. Some very good puzzles too. You can also push blocks and stuff to either open a path or give you leg up to do MORE CLIMBING! YAY!

Sound:8/10
BANG! SPLASH! ROAR! That is about all the sound you hear in the game. The only music is in the cut scenes or at the main menu. You do hear a good deal of talking in the cut scenes. You also hear the sound of Lara gasping for breath after swimming. However still not much sound but what you do hear is very good.

Replay Value:5/10
This game is EXTREMELY fun the first time through. Then it just gets boring I don't know why.

Pros:
*Graphics were could at the time.
*Very fun to play.
*Good sound
*Good controls.

Cons:
*Almost no sound at all
*A WHOLE LOT OF CLIMBING!

Yes I gave this game a 10. Yes I didn't give a single category here a 10. So why give it a 10. BECAUSE IT WAS REALLY FUN TO PLAY! I COULD NOT STOP PLAYING THIS! There now you know why I gave it a 10. NI! NI! NI! NI!
