"An awsme racing game!"

When I first heard about this game I thought it would be sweet!I was right!Good graphics and all the sonic characters!

Graphics:10

These are awesome graphics for the time, but if you do not have a D3D card do not get this game!In the directdraw mode the default resiloution is REALLY low. If you switch it to a high resiloution the graphics will be as good as D3D but the game will run soooo slow! Some times you can see througn walls and Amy's hair looks flat.The levels have nice senerey.

Sound: 2

They sound horible! The sound is the same as the genesis Sonic games! After you play for awile you get used to it and don't bother to turn them off.This is the weakest part of the game.

Music: 7

The music is Ok, but it's too corney. I suggest turning off the vocals.This is the 2nd weakest part in the game.

Gameplay: 10

The gameplay is awsome! Instead of driving in cars you run (2 characters ride in veicles)! You can do almost every thing you can do it a Sonic game (Jump and Spindash). Aslo there are about 6 secret characters and One secret track. SOme times is snows and the water turns to Ice and you can run right over it and cut 30 secconds off the clock each lap! Also each character has different stats and action!

Story: 9
Sonic and Knuckles are enjoying a little time off from adventuring. The trip they have planned
will be a nice, relaxing vacation. Or so they think...

Tails spots a huge sign alongside the road they are currently traveling on. It is a recruiting
advertisement for the World Grand Prix. ''Sonic! Sonic! Look, there's going to be a huge race
with all the best racers in the world. What a great opportunity for you to show your speed and
compete with the other great runners!''

Sonic thinks for a moment. He's the world's fastest runner, but participating in races is not really
his interest. Something on the sign, however, catches Sonic's eye. Dr. Robotnik, Sonic's arch-enemy,
is participating in the race. Sonic races off into the distance. ''Wait Sonic! Wait for me!''
Tails shouts to his friend.

Miles above the sign, a spy satellite focuses on Sonic and Tails. Dr. Robotnik snickers in delight.
''Now that you have fallen into my trap, Sonic, I will finally have the Chaos Emeralds, and beat
you at the same time. With my new hover machine, and these...'' Dr. Robotnik looks to his left,
and a row of gleaming eyes gaze back at him. ''Nothing can go wrong! Hahahahahahaha.....''
Little does Sonic know that Dr. Robotnik has learned of the location of the Chaos Emeralds.

Sonic is not the only one who will be racing with Dr. Robotnik. Sonic's rival, Knuckles, has
learned that Sonic will be participating in a very important race. Knuckles never turns down a
chance to be around Sonic when the action starts.

Amy will be there too. After secretly overhearing Dr. Robotnik's plans, she also will be
racing to find the Chaos Emeralds.
In Sonic R, you get the chance to be one of the five Sonic characters in a four-course 3D race.
Race quickly, but remember to look for items which will help you along your way. And lastly,
find those Chaos Emeralds!

Multiplayer: 10
The multiplayer part of this game is awsome! 4 players on one PC and a little Network Play. The network play is too complicated to setup.

Replayability: 8

It's easy to beat the game but to get all the Emeralds and Coins is realy hard! The time trial mode is original with reverse and Tag modes!

Rent or Buy: Buy this game! You'll play this game for a while and if you wan't to play online you can install the online part of the game to your friends computer!
