Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis

Review by hwing12

"Such A Great Game!"

When this game first came out, I bought it for my old mac and played it with my friend for literally a week straight, beating it. I looked back at my accomplishment and thought of all the good times I had in the game, how I laughed, cried, and got frustrated, all while having good clean fun.
Well with no further ado, here is my review.

Graphics: 8/10
Everything is clear enough to make out, and for the year it was made, parts of the game are actually impressive. No real complaints here, but sometimes, the graphics got choppy, for me at least.

Sound: 9/10
''Ahhh Mr. Jones, WELCOME TO MY HUMBLE HOME'' I laughed for hours at this line. The voices are incredibly good for the time, and I like the music. No complaints.

Control: 8/10
Simple, Menu based system. Fights can be fun or annoying depending on your likes and dislikes. Not anything special here. A major complaint, I have, is in flying the air balloon which I think is not fun at all, and is just more hard than it needs to be.

Story: 7.5/10
The fact that it is Indiana Jones gives the game extra points. The plot itself is very simple, and cliched. Indiana Jones is racing baddies to Atlantis. There are a few little twists along the way, but nothing too surprising.

Gameplay: 9.5/10
This is without a doubt the best game of the genre for this reason. Gameplay is very fun! There are tons of new items to pick up and different ways to interact with people. There are also tons of different paths to choose. There are certain objects which can be obtained different ways, and which way gets you the item, differs every time you play. Also there are three different paths to take in the game which totally change the chain of events you take leading to the ending. There are three paths, wits, fists, and team. They are self explanatory when you get to the point in the game where you choose this.
A big complaint with gameplay is that parts of the game seem annoying and trivial. For example, you might have to go back and forth between two areas to get enough lets say oricalcum (you'll find out what this is) to complete an area.

Replay: 9/10
No game deserves a perfect mark in this, although Half Life's internet multiplayer system comes close. The game should be replayed at least 3 times just to go through the game taking a different path each time. This should leave you with hours of gameplay.

In conclusion, If you can still find this game and have a
computer that can run it, get it! It's fun and definitely worth checking out.

Overall: 10/10 ; )
