MoonBase Commander

"So simple and so much fun!"

Never heard of this game? Me neither until I bought it and tried it out. So simple and so much fun! I can actually compare it to chess or othello because its one of those a minute to learn a lifetime to master kind of games. Once you've played it, you will be enlightened. Games don't need to be fancy to be good. They don't need good graphics, story, and blood to be good. This is good old fashioned strategy. Its very original. I never played a game like it.

Gameplay: Moonbase Commander is a turn based strategy game. You start out with a small hub and from that hub, you aim and shoot out other hubs, other facilities, or you can attack from it. All hubs are connected by a series of dots and the key is to destroy your opponents main hub. Sounds confusing? Well you have to play it for yourself. Not much action, just hardcore strategy. You will find yourself battling over a small energy pool or defending yourself from persistent attacks will be the extent of the action.

Story: The story is lame. In the future when Earth's natural resources are depleted, mankind must look elsewhere for energy and colonization. However, in this quest there is opposition. You will battle for supremacy over these small pathetic planets. I know its lame, but thats not important. You can be one of four factions and each has its different graphics.

Sound: The sounds and music are well developed. Not annoying, but not extensive. The audio is very pleasing and smooth to the ear. Your advisor is also very non annoying and won't bug you at all.

Graphics: Even though its practically a 2 Dimensional game, the graphics are good. Smooth, crisp, and colorful. Each faction has their own scheme and every one of them looks good. Even though, aren't extensive, they fit the game well. It sort of has a cartoon look to it.

Replay Value: Like all other strategy games, you can play this game for a long time. Multiplayer, Challenge, and Skirmish mode, really allows this game to be played for a long time. Its so simple and so much fun. It might never get boring!

Flaws: Some people just won't enjoy this game, and there are some that will. Other than that, its flawless.

Closing Statement: Its a really fun game. So simple and so much fun. Its cheap too! Go get it now!
