G Police

Review by TheBlindXiahou

"An amazing flight/action game..."

G-Police created by Psygnosis is one of the coolest games ever made. It was made a few years ago and still has some of the best 3D effects you will ever see. It's graphics are even better than some games out right now! This game is a mix of a flight simulator and action. You fly around in a helicopter sort of thing (some parts have you being in a car or a robot!) shooting down criminals!

The story is pretty good. It's the future. Earth's resources have been depleted and they created ships in space to sustain life. A war broke out and only 1 ship has survived. While searching for a new home there are some internal conflicts with the civilians who are still alive. Many companies such as Krakov and Nanosoft are becoming big threats. So, the government creates a police force called ''G-Police'' (Government Police) to keep safety inside the domes.
You are Jack Slater, a new member of G-Police who joined in to find clues about his sister's death. You begin doing some basic stuff like scanning cargo and eliminating criminal threats. In a few levels you will have to aid some ground teams that are doing arrests. The ground teams can fight back! They have vans with rail-guns that can shoot out some enemies with no problem but all of the ground units have weak armor. In a few more levels you will be given a wingman who is in the same ship as you and uses similar weapons. His AI is also impressive because there are certain times when he says stuff like ''Slater, you take out the ground units while I take out the aerial units.''

The graphics are amazing! Many different places to go to, interactive environments, awesome explosions, real looking gunfights, etc. You will never get bored of the graphics unless you have beaten the game. This game also contains very well done movies with great voice-acting.

The sound and music are great too. The sound is the impressive part. If you have stereo speakers then whenever someone shoots you from the right, you hear the shot ONLY from the right. Surround sound is an amazing feature of this game. Also this game includes voice acting that is excellent. In the movies there is voice acting and also in every single mission. Whenever you start doing an objective you will hear the base, wingman, or the ground team talking to you. Unfortunately you cant talk back. The people all show emotion. For example if the ground team is getting fried then the guy screams out ''Patrol to Alpha Wing, WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! REQUEST ASSISTANCE OVER!''

This game is pretty hard. The first few levels are easy but then after the fifth one it becomes harder and harder. There are over 30 levels and over 10 training mission. Only a few of the training missions are available. You will have to use cheat codes to unlock the rest where you can play in squad cars and a cool looking robot. In the mission with the robot its a huge awesome all out war!
This game is extremely exciting.
I suggest you buy it...
