Grand Theft Auto III

"Not the greatest... Wait, yes it is!"

Well, I got this game long after it's hype was over. I got it after GTA: Vice City was out. After listening to so many people saying it was so great for so long, I decided to try it. Well, I thought it would be terrible, but man, it wasn't.

Gameplay: 9/10
-Unique and innovative describe it best. I mean, what other games can you steal cars in? Sheer brilliance. The whole system is great, with the cars and the guns and the killing. Another innovative system is the wanted system, which shows how much the police want to kill you. 0 is they don't care, 6 is ''Bring in the army, we've got a ****ing maniac on our hands.'' Hahah, truly awesome. The only problem I have is that the guy can't swim. That's pretty stupid, if you ask me. But whatever, it's still a great game. Oh wait, I have a second problem: the lack of a motorcycle. I want one.

Graphics: 10/10
-Now, on a PC, it's hard to rate graphics. But when my lousy graphics card looks just as good as the PS2 version, that's pretty good. I had one little problem here, where the blue circles for missions wouldn't show up most of the time. That was just an annoyance, though, and I got over it.

Sound: 8/10
-The radio shows are pretty good, the chatterbox is kinda funny, and the MP3 playback is great. Now I can be partying hard and doing unique stunts! The people say some funny things too. It only got an 8 because I'm on foot a lot of the time, and there's no music when you're on foot.

Difficulty: 9/10
-Pretty hard. Not too hard, though. I guess since it's rated M, you should be able to think like a mature adult, and be able to get this pretty well.

Replay Value: 7/10
-This is a really long game, and pretty challenging too. If you can beat it, you probably wouldn't want to play it again, but you can have hours of fun just cruising around town.

Controls: 10/10
-You can set them yourself. 'Nuff said. Even the default controls are great.

Buy / Rent: BUY
-The greatest game for PC. EVER. I'm serious here. Well, until GTA:VC comes out for PC. You might want to wait until that comes out, though. If you have the money, get this, it will DEFINITELY be worth it.

Overall: 9/10
-What haven't I said already? Great graphics, great sound, great controls, GREAT GAME! Seriously. Just get it. You won't regret it.
