NBA Live 2001

"A great classic PC basketball game"

I downloaded the demo of this game and fell in love with it so with a price tag of $15 CND, I knew it was a must buy and heres what I thought of the game:

Gameplay: I was thinking of getting a PC controller since I wasnt too familiar with gaming on a keyboard but then I learned that I could customize the controls as much as I want so I thought to myself why waste the extra $30. So when I got the game I set up the controls to the way I like and I started to shoot some hoops. Ive played alot and now I could clearly tell the difference when Im playing with a fast shooting guard like Vince Carter and a slow center like Shaq because EA carefully analyzed each player and set their attributes based on their real-life counterpart. This is my favourite PC basketball game to date because of all the modes and downloadable patches. 9/10

Sound: TREMENDOUS! I love the songs that EA has put in he game especially when your playing street ball in the background you can hear songs from artists as Choclair's. The commentators also sound real TBS/TNT commentators and I dont know how EA has done it because I barely ever hear them repeat a phrase. This is how sound is supposed to be like in video games and EA has surpassed my expectations. 10/10

Graphics: This game is leaking with greatness and it doesnt dissapoint here either. Now it shows its age but right when I got it I was amazed at what great graphics it had. The players faces arent all that great but their models look exactly like them. I have also found patches that update all the new arenas like The Pyramid in Memphis and they still look great. This also has one of the best lighting in a sport game ever. When players enter the court the spotlight goes directly onto one player and it seems like you have a front row seat at an NBA game! 8/10

Replay Value: This game has online play but its useless now because it is very hard to find anyone in EA's lobbies and when you do the game does get laggy even with two broadband players. But if your not into online gaming there is also the franchise mode where you carry a team through an infinite number of seasons. 7/10

Buy?: If your into great sport games I think that this is the game for you. Wether your just a casual basketball fan or a insane fan of the NBA this game will live up to all the dreams you ever wanted in a basketball game. Buy

Overall: This is a great PC classic by EA that shouldnt be missed, EA has dominated the PC gameworld for years now and they have struck again with a great game! Right now the game is probably like $5 CND so make sure you dont miss out on this great game! GREAT JOB EA! 8/10
