RollerCoaster Tycoon: Corkscrew Follies Expansion

Review by acmadude

"Think twice before buying this game"

I'm sure you've read about Corkscrew Follies on many Rollercoaster Tycoon pages. They may show you screenshots of this "Add-On Pack," but in truth, Corkscrew Follies is just an expensive patch that Hasbro Interactive is using to keep people from using utilities called "Trainers" to cheat. And to top it all off, they're making a large profit from it.

There is no real harm in using trainers, trainers are mostly used if one just wants to design rollercoasters without having to build an entire park.

So you may ask "Why did Hasbro decide to make it so hard for us to cheat?" No one knows. In this "Add-on pack" they've spent so much time trying to eliminate cheating, but they still haven't fixed important stuff, like that daylight savingstime glitch that erases your scenario progress.

However, there are a few cool new features and rides in Corkscrew Follies. There are a couple new rollercoasters, new scenery, new gentle rides, thrill rides, and new vehicles for certain rides.

There are a few new trainers for the add-on, but you cannot save games and expect to be able to load them later. These trainers don't even work that well.

But the question is "Is it worth it?" My answer: Yes, but barely. I think it is very important to know the downsides of this game before you buy it.
