WCW Nitro

"Being a console gamer and a PC gamer, makes this a really hard game to review"

WCW Nitro for the PC is probably the only wrestling game for the PC. Which isn't a good thing actually. Even though I am one of the very few people who actually like WcW Thunder(PSX), and Wcw Nitro(N64) this game still disappointed me.

Graphics: 5 out of 10
Looking at this game as a console gamer, it looks just as good or even better than the N64 version. But as a PC gamer, it looks horrible. This game's graphics are way to simple to REQUIRE a 3D card.

Sound: 5 out of 10
Tony Shivonie and Bobby "The Brain" Henane are the announce team for this game. And they don't do a very good job. You can always predict what they are going to say, and when they are going to say it. Each wrestler has the set of grunts, so you will hear Kimberly grunt like Hogan. Just plain crap.

Gameplay: 7 out of 10
Depending on how well you know the keyboard, this game will be either easier to control than the N64 version, or much harder. Also, if you don't have a good enough 3D card, this game will run horribly slow.

Replay Value: 8 out of 10
Suprised by that big number?? Well its not because of all the wrestlers you can unluck (because you can unlock them all with a code). Its because of the ease in which you can edit this game. All of the sound files are .wav files, so if you don't like the announcing, record your own. The wrestler skins can be edited if you have a decent .bmp progam.

If you look hard enough, you can find sites, that offer .zip (that onces unzipped) will completly modify this game.

Overall: 6 out of 10
Add a point if your normally a console gamer, but subtract a point from that if your mainly a PC gamer. You should be able to find this game in bargin bins for 10 bucks, and if you do, buy it. Its worth it just to modify the game.
