Atomic Bomberman

"Funny catch phrases, great graphics, and the same old school feel, HEAVEN ON A DISK!!!"

Now, I don't understand everyone else's problem with this game. Maybe it's because they lack the fanboyism of Bomberman like I do (no offense is intended, they are entitled to their opinion, as am I). I saw this game in a toy store on my way back from Mytle Beach, and I saw it was a remake of the old skool Bomberman. I just had to have it. For a mere 10$ I got a game that I was more then pleased with, I still wonder why such a great game was so cheap. Anyway, not only did the neat installation animation fascinate me, but it cracked me up! I swear this game will cause anyone with a sense of humor to bust a gut. Even when your killed, you can't help but laugh at the wacky way your character disappears from the screen, not to mention the taunting one-liners your killers mock you with. I sometimes get so caught up watching what happens to everyone else that I end up getting myself killed.

Gameplay: Old Skool Gamers- 10/10, New Age Whippersnappers- 2/10
I loved the old feel to the classic Bomberman. but like I said, I am old skool, and others who are new age dislike it. you still run around dropping bombs, the amount of bombs you drop is based on the power-ups you pick up, as does how far your 4-way flame goes. The real fun is in the collecting of powerups for speed, power, bomb max, and all that good stuff and going straight loco on everyone. The only problem is that the AI is so good that the game is extremely challenging, so don't expect to be the best the first time you step out on the field. This is what keeps it from getting a perfect 10...

Storyline- 0/10
Games like these never have a story. This is the old Bomberman, just blowing the crap outta people is the story. But I feel like someone out there will buy this expecting a storyline like the ones for the N64 had (maybe the GCN had one, I wouldn't know sadly....). Don't play this game if you want a good storyline. Buy this game to blow the crap outta people...

Audio/Video- 9/10

The audio can be a little sketchy sometimes, but it may just be my computer. The BG music rules though! I sometimes just set it so the AIs play against other other and watch the carnage, thinking of how to turn it into a tight ass music video. It would work to with the crisp graphics and the hilarious things the characters do when they die. The video is great, not the best, but hey... Graphics aren't always what make a video game, right?

Replayablity- 10/10 (Duh!!!)

This game is nothing but replayablity. I'm still playing it, I have since I got the game (which was a few years ago). You can play this game over and over again, though I don't think it even ends...

Overall, this game is one for my ''The Greats'' shelf. It should be for yours to if you like the TRUE feel to a bomberman game.
