Empire Earth: The Art of Conquest

Review by TheBobster

"I didn't know planets were islands!"

This game adds some new stuff to Empire Earth. You should know that, after all, it is an expansion pack. The bad part is it doesn't add enough stuff to be worth buying.

New campaigns are worth 8/10:
There are three new campaigns. There is the Roman campaign, the Pacific campaign, which is the United States in the Pacific Theater during World War II, and the Asian campaign, which China in the future. The Pacific campaign, in my opinion, had to be the most enjoyable. The reason why is that it causes you to use the troops you start out with wisely, because in most of this campaign's levels, those are the only troops you'll have in the entire mission. The Asian campaign is very hard, even on easy! The story is hard to understand too.

New space area is worth 4/10:
In this expansion pack, the game added ''space''. I was expecting more from this added feature. ''Planets'' are just islands in a black sea, that is supposed to be ''outer space''. That isn't the only bad thing about this, if you want an outer space map, you can't have any oceans on the planets! Meaning, no naval combat! Of course, the outer space is basically just really slow naval combat.

New units are worth 5/10:
The new units, sadly, are too few. Most of them are just special units that are made exclusively for a specific civilization (explained later). The only units that aren't civilzation-specific are the new outer space units. There are only about seven space units.

New civilization powers are worth 7/10:
Civilization powers, are special powers that are exclusive to one country. This may sound exciting. However, it isn't really that impressive. The powers range from special buildings, special units, special magic powers, and other things. An example of a new building, is the Market, which is the U.S. civilization power. If you have a surplus of resources, you can sell them for gold here. If you have a surplus of gold, you can buy resources here. An example of a new unit, is the Cyber Ninja. The Cyber Ninja is a soldier that can cloak itself and temporarily disable buildings with its ''logic bomb''. An example of a special magic power is the Crusader. This allows most Middle Age ground infantry to have the convert power. Most of these powers are limited to a certain epoch.

New Space Epoch is worth 5/10:
I have already explained this. This epoch is where you can build spaceships to explore space (if your map has outer space).

New features (overall) are worth 6/10:
There isn't too much new stuff in Empire Earth's expansion pack. I was hoping for more.
