"Trick em', Tune em', Race em'"
Don't be fooled by the appearance of this game. This game is AWFUL.
Gameplay : In this game you buy a car, trick it out, tune it up, then you can drive it around in a town/city or on a test track. You start by creating a career and inputting your name. Then your taken to a garage. There you can buy your car. There are between 10-15 different kinds of cars in this game. At the car lot there you can choose a car. You start with a certain amount of money to spend. You can choose to buy a car with missing parts if you wish and fix them up later, or you can start with one that comes with all the parts. Some will be missing doors, hoods, and ect. After you pick a car you go back to the garage. From there you can go to the catalog and buy parts for your car or repair, remove, or add parts you already have. The parts you can select are limited, however. When your car is ready to drive you have two options : ''Hit the street'' or ''Test Track''. At the test track you can drive your car around the test track with various obstacles in your way. In the hit the street mode you can drive your car around in the streets. You can try to hit pedestrians, but you will just go right through them. Traffic will be circulating around the city (unless you have traffic set to none). The car handles very sluggishly. You can get stuck behind some objects with the camera in an awkward position and not even see your car. You sometimes have to try multiple times to get your car to back up. Overall the options are pretty limited in this game.
I give Gameplay a 4/10
Graphics : The graphics in this game are average at best. I've seen better graphics on games that came out years before this one. Nothing special here.
5/10
Sound : The game has a decent sound track, but that doesn't make up for the other problems. The cars in this game do not have a realistic sound to them. Sometimes the horn will get stuck and continue blaring the whole time you are driving.
4/10
Technical Issues : This game recommends a 1 GHz processor to run it. To even get the game to load to the main menu you have to download multiple patches. Then even more patches for other things such as numerous lock ups. If you do not click directly on the tabs on the Main Menu, the game will minimize and when you pop it back up the screen will be back. The things that you might enjoy in this game can be ruined by all the technical problems.
1/10
Replayibility : There are so may problems why would you want to play it again?
Rent or Buy : Rent this game and if by some chance you enjoy it, buy it.
Final Score : 2.4 (rounded to 2 for GameFAQs)
