Review by Terranovix

"A good vampire-game, but somewhat tedious."

I just want to tell you all that this is my first review.
Thank you.

Introduction:
Blood Omen is about Kain, a noble who was killed and turned into a vampire later by a necromancer. He then gets out of his newly gotten crypt to get revenge. But as it all unfolds he is under a curse. And adventures through Nosgoth to end it. (Blood Omen will know be known as BO throughout the review)

Graphics: [6/10]
BO was made 1996, and its graphics are outdated for its time by some bit. The sprites are good looking though. And that is not really all, BO gets slowdowns in very lightened areas which are not that much pretty anyway because it is a little blurry. The rain also serves as a slowdown factor.

Sounds: [8/10]
This game has voice acting through the entire game. And it is good. Kain has specially good voice acting. All items and magic has its own description that Kain tells. The background music is somewhat non-existent at first, but as the player gets into BO more it gets better.

Gameplay: [8/10]
With a lot of magic, and several weapons and armors that always has it uses the world of Nosgoth gets fun to explore. And it also has alot of secret places one could search for. But the actual fighting in the game gets tedious. You attack and hope you hit, and then if you dont kill the enemy you can suck its blood. Then later magic comes into the action. But it is all about keeping the bloodvalue high, as it is Kain's health really. In many places the game has alot of victims you can suck blood of. But some places almost has none. So you die alot in the same places. And after awhile you get bored of that. The bosses otherwise are actually rather fun to fight against. They offer the need for a little more tactics but is kind of easy for its own good. And the puzzles that mainly consists of finding buttons on walls and floors gets boring after the first 3 hours into the game.

Replayability: [5/10]
This to me is not a game with alot of replayability. After playing through it once, the fun vanishes. The only part that can get you keep playing it is to find the secrets. But even that wont keep you playing this game for long.

Final: [7/10]
A fun game for a little while, but gets boring because of its tedious gameplay after awhile.

Rent or buy? I would say Rent. Because of the replayability issues. But a buy if you really like vampire-games as you can get it really cheap now.
