"The first multinational CT squad in the world.."

Taken from the novel from the same name by renowned author Tom Clancy and developed and created for the PC by Redstorm Entertainment owned also by the same novelist, Rainbow Six takes into a possible view that a CT (Counter-Terrorist) group could be formed, which was comprised of foreign operatives from Counter-Terrorist teams around the world.

STORY:

The year was 1999. It was 19 years after the end of the Cold War. The entire world thinks that they can relax, following the promise of the new Russian government not to threaten the world's security. But secretly, there are terrorist groups around the world that are taking advantage of the ''peace'' to strike terror and fear into the hearts of innocent civilians. To respond to this new threat, NATO officials have agreed on a resolution to form a multi-national team comprising of foreign operatives who have been trained by counter-terrorist teams from around the world. NATO officials have selected ex-NAVY SEAL John Clark to be the team's first commanding officer and they have told Clark to base their group at the Headquarters of the SAS at Hereford, Britain.

As the Rainbow team has secretly gained the attention of both world leaders and terrorist groups alike, the team has struck fear in the hearts of terrorist groups and has won the trust of world leaders, who hope that Rainbow will protect the entire world from evil. But this time, a new threat has emerged. There are talks of a certain terrorist group who will not hesitate to use germ warfare to get their words known throughout the world. The entire world now hopes that Rainbow will quell this group from they unleash the ultimate bio-weapon ever known in the history of chemical warfare.

CONTROLS:

The controls to use Rainbow operatives are limited, since you can't use the keyboard to turn your operative in order to face a certain direction. Using the keyboard and the mouse together would be of great help here for this simulation game.

AUDIO/VIDEO:

You can actually hear actual samples of voices used while conducting CT operations. Voices such as ''Tango Down'', ''Hostage Rescued'' and ''Status'' are all realistic. The cut scenes during the opening and in the end of the game are impressive enough to those who want to see and play a game which is a CT simulation.

REPLAYABILITY:

This game has around 15-20 missions to play with. But don't worry, you can save on the way. The only thing that you have to do is to save before you start your mission. Just like The Sum of All Fears, you can alter the mission plan to suit your needs. But, its up to you to try and see if they'll actually work.
