Planescape: Torment
Review by SeiferSlasher
"This game friggin' ROCKS!!!"
I've played my shares of RPGs. Ever since a little game called "Final Fantasy" came out, I was hooked to the genre. I can honestly say I have pretty much played every RPG brought to USA for any console. When I heard Interplay brought out a game that uses the same type of gameplay as Baldur's Gate, I bought that game, the day it came out. It was a little game called, "Planescape: Torment" The minute I put in the CD (1st of 4) my jaw dropped. Besides showing on of the coolest movies for the PC i've ever seen, it left me with one cool game. This may be the best RPG ever made.
You're the Nameless One. You don't know where you are, why youre there, and who you even are. The story unravels as you finally realize who you WERE. That's when the story gets interesting. Lets just say, the game gives one of the most interesting and origional story, with some really cool characters.
The graphics are an updated version of Baldur's Gate, since it uses the same Infinity Engine. The graphics are amazingly detailed, and have some of the most smooth animations i've ever seen. The sound also is amazing. The music fits the enviornment perfectly, and the voice acting is great. Gameplay in this game, I thought was EXTREMELY easier to use then BG. It was easy to use, helpful, and works for anybody. The best part of the game, I think, is the replay value. There are so many quests in this game that after you play it for the 20th time, you'll still find new quests to complete.
