The Sims: Superstar

Review by Y2J 00

"The Sims hit Stardom!"

EA Sports and Maxis has released it's sixth and most recent expansion on The Sims titled The Sims: Superstar. For years, players have been requesting the ability to follow their Sims to work and their request has been fulfilled. Superstar offers to follow your Sim from a nobody to a superstar in their respected career which consist of movie star, singer, fashion model, etc. With over 150 new items, Superstar keeps this genre of simulation addicting more then ever. Studio Town opens up for all Sims, famous or not, and now is your chance to either skyrocket to the top or fade into obscurity. Real life superstars of today make special appearances in the Limited Collectors Edition such as Avril Lavigne, Marilyn Monroe and many more.

Replay Factor
Anyone that has played the original Sims or any of the expansions knows how addicting this game can actually be. If you are new to the series, be prepared to kiss your social life good-bye.

Gameplay
With the added fame objects such as the Satellite Dish, Karaoke Stage, Oxygen Bar, Skydiving Simulator, and the Music Studio, there is plenty to do in this new expansion to keep your Sim busy as ever.
9/10

Control
Point, click, repeat. Very simple.

Sounds
If you play long enough, you too will be speaking Simmish. You know you played too long if you begin to understand them.
8/10

Music
As far as sound goes, the building music has pretty much the very same as previous expansions. With additional television stations, there is sort of a more variety but basically, the same thing.
8/10

Graphics
The graphics remain the same, even through all these years. It needs a huge update but even now, the graphics are way better then it was in the original Sims but it's still not a huge leap.
6/10

As far as bugs/freezing goes, I have yet to experience any of those troubles. I have surfed the message boards and quite a few have experienced such problems so either I have gotten luck or I haven't played enough. There is slight lag from moving from property to property but once you're there, it should be smooth sailing. I recommend shutting down most programs because this game sucks up a lot of processing from your computer.

Verdict: If you're a hardcore fan of the Sims or have to get every expansion, you can go wrong with this. Even if you are not a hardcore fan, this is still a must get to complete your Sims library. You won't be disappointed.
