The Sims: Superstar
Review by Duff Quan Do
"The Sims are Famous!"
I believe that ''The Sims: Superstar'' meets everything that I would think of for an expansion. Many people have been e-mailing Maxis for a LONG time asking for the ability to follow your Sims to work. Well, we got about 3/4 of what we wished for. We had been wanting to follow the Sims to ''everyday'' work such as your different career tracks (Business, Entertainment, Military, ect.). What we got was almost as good. Now, we don't get to follow them to their ''everyday'' job, but instead, at anytime we wish, we may hive an agent and go to studio town and try to get famous! With many new items, some of them being the perfect celebrity items, it makes ''the Sims: Superstar'' worth that green hump of paper in your pocket.
Gameplay- Ten out of ten 10/10
The gameplay is almost the same as all the other versions of ''The Sims'', except for the new addition of ''Studio Town'' and the attempt to become famous.
Story- Four out of ten 4/10
As you probably already know, ''The Sims'' has next to no story other than a few odds and ends. Superstar adds just a bit more story to the game, though.
Video- Eight out of ten 8/10
''The Sims'' isn't really known for its graphics, but they aren't that bad really. As far as I can tell, Superstar adds no new graphics modifications other than a few new animations.
Audio- Nine out of ten 9/10
The sound on this game is quite good. At least they finally got rid of that horrible loading screen music with a more ''up-to-date'' music. I have really always liked most of the sounds on ''The Sims'' anyway.
Replayability- Ten out of ten 10/10
Since you never ''win'' this game, you will find yourself getting board of one family that has EVERYTHING in it, and starting a new family with a 2-room bachelor house. To this day, I have had soooo many families that I literally had to download a name generator to think of new first and last names.
Buy or Rent: Definitely a big, huge BUY!
If you rent, you'll just have to start a new family. I only know a few people who don't like ''The Sims'', so you are most likely going to love it.
Overall- Nine out of Ten! 9/10
This is not an average. ''The Sims'' is a great game, but it still has it's ups and downs.
