"A weak expansion pack to a mediocre sequel."

Please don't let my rating for this expansion pack of 40% misguide you. I am not giving the rating based upon the game itself, but rather, the mediocrity of the expansion pack. With that said, let's begin...

RollerCoaster Tycoon 2: Wacky Worlds is a RCT2 expansion pack that adds new scenarios and hundreds of new themes and scenery, all styled to real world locations. With this expansion pack, your park is capable of becoming more realistic than ever, as it is now possible to use the themes and scenery to create reproductions of real world parks. If you've always wanted to micromanage Disneyland, here's your chance. Some of the new themes and scenery included in the expansion pack cover the Orient, Latin America and the American frontier. Note that the new theming has been expanded to the rides and attractions, which allows every nook and cranny of your park to perfectly blend together.

Unfortunately, that is all that Wacky Worlds delivers. There are no new rides or attractions, and no real innovations to the RCT2 game engine. While there are a few new musical tracks added, as well as some new footpath designs, there just isn't enough to warrant Wacky Worlds as a true expansion pack. It feels much more like an online game update, something that isn't worth an actual price tag. With many flaws present in the game engine of RCT2, an expansion pack would have been the perfect way to not only correct the existing flaws, but to improve the game engine even further. None of this is present. This expansion pack is about as bare bones as it gets. Even combined with its sister expansion pack, Time Twister, there still isn't all that much added to RCT2, especially compared to Corkscrew Follies and Loopy Landscapes, the two expansion packs of the original RCT.

Fortunately, Wacky Worlds adds a fair amount of new scenarios, and most of them even feature completely new objectives. The expansion pack also redesigned the main menu of RCT2, a welcomed change. Overall, this is a very mediocre expansion pack, although it is a nice addition to the game library of those who enjoy RCT2.
