"A great game that could use some polishing"
What game can you think of that will let you go in any set of time you want to? Empire Earth is the only game I\'ve played that lets you do that. When I first saw this game in 2001 it was the only game I wanted. But when I got it I was a little disappointed. Anyway lets get on with the review shall we?
Story:6/10 Well there isn\'t much of a story if you want a story on this game. Go look in the history books. There is of course the futuristic campaigns which deals with Russia in about 2010 or so. But if your looking for a super original story you may not like this game very well.
Graphics:8/10 The graphics are great. looking that is but they aren\'t very realistic. Say if you drop a nuke in a forest no trees die. And the faces oh my are they ugly they don\'t look too bad in a normal view but. If you look at them zoomed to the max they happen to be very nasty looking, they all look very pixilated like a picture zoomed in on the max all I can really say about the faces is they might scare you. Another thing that I didn\'t like to well is you can\'t rotate the camera. Your stuck in the same view all the time.
Sound:7/10 Each weapon has it\'s own sound. So you can hear swords clashing and guns firing. Like if you have a tank you can hear it sounds like a tank. The game also has Some ambient sounds. Though I never really paid attention to them the main ambient sound I heard was the birds. There is also about three or four soundtracks. Not a large amount. At least they aren\'t all the same though.
Game play:9/10 In my opinion this is where the game really shines. There\'s a huge tech tree. You can research almost anything you can upgrade your tanks, soldiers, planes, ships, citizens, farms, you can also upgrade your units stats. Like hit points, attack, armor, speed, range. There is also 14 Epochs(ages) you can research each epoch brings you a whole new tech tree to research. There is also heroes which I didn\'t think were to creative. There\'s two types of heroes Warrior heroes and Support heroes they all have the same abilities Warrior heroes have battle cry which lowers enemy morale. All warrior class heroes can do that. While support heroes can heal your troops. Also warrior class heroes can do more damage than support heroes and they raise your troops\' morale. That\'s all there is with heroes. Another problem is when your trying to manage large groups of planes or ships you just can\'t because the planes fly around in circles so it makes it hard to select a bunch and group them. While ships then to be too big and bump into each other. Making them hard to group too. There\'s also a scenario editor which can let you make an entire campaign all your own with cinematic\'s and everything else you can think of.
