"Attack with Sharpened Steel!"

After Playing ''Age Of Empires'' then going on to ''Age Of Empires 2'' and then ''Age Of Mythology'' I started getting bored because they weren't offering very much new stuff in the sequels besides graphic improvements I decided to try ''Empire Earth''.
Needless to say it was the saving grace in the RTS category...

Story: 8/10
Not much can be said here..
With the invented time zones such as ''Digital'', ''Nano'' and with the Expansion ''Space''. But it stays true to history in the past ages and thats really all that matters.

Gameplay: 10/10
One word describes this completely... ''WOW''. In comparison to ''Age Of Empires'' in which you can go from ''Prehistoric'' age to ''Iron'' age. In Empire Earth you can go from ''Prehistoric'' age to ''Nano'' age with twelve different ages in between!
The overall game can take anywhere from 15 minutes to 20 hours plus depending on the amount of computers and if you rush or build up a big defense.

Multi Player: 10/10
Another ''WOW'' point.
Multi Player on this game is magnificent, you can play with up to 8 players, I've never had that many but I've had a few 2-4 player games and they've been great!
You can have competitive or fun games, Whatever you feel like!

Graphics: 9/10
The Graphics are decent and get the job done...
They're as good as the graphics on ''Age Of Empires 2'' but if they were too much higher imagine the lag that would happen when you upgrade your walls! So overall the graphics are nice... the details are good... If you have the Expansion then the graphics get updated a little more. Some craters from bombs... Cool laser effects... The Whole works.

Music/Sound: 8/10
Music: The music is nice... The menu song is about all you will notice in the entire game... You'll be too busy paying attention to what your doing in the game to notice.

Sound: The sounds are great... A little too many voices when you click the units when you move them but all the voices are good and accurate to the age they're in.

Replay: 10/10
Once you start playing you just can't stop... With campaigns, death match, Multi Player, Scenario editor... etc... You wont want to stop playing and when you do feel like it, Buy the Expansion! That'll give you a new reason to play again with the new units/scenarios.

Updates: 2/10
This game is a real pain to upgrade it to the latest edition... I spent a half hour downloading it from File Planet and after that the file didn't even work! I had to look online for web-sites and I finally found the update that worked...

Rent or Buy?
Definite buy.
At $40.00 for the Gold Edition at the moment you get ''Empire Earth'', ''Empire Earth: The Art Of Conquest'' Expansion and the Prima Strategy Guide.
It's worth every penny!

And that concludes my review.
I hope This Review makes the decision between buying or not buying this game.
