Rise of Nations
Review by Subterfuge
"A very fun RTS game, that will keep you hooked!"
Introduction
Welcome to Rise of nations, a RTS game with endless hours of fun and excitement.
You create buildings, people, an army, pretty much anything and have them do anything you want as you advance through the ages. But the real action is in the war.
Anyway, On with the review!
Sound 8/10
Explosions, gun fire, horses galloping, It all sound realistic. There are a few scores to the game, all symphony orchestrated. Everything fits well, and sounds realistic.
Graphics 7/10
Since this game is a RTS there are no high poly models or anything drastic or ground breaking. The buildings will change as you advance through the ages, as will the vehicles, people and everything else. It's interesting to see rocks in one age, then advance to the next age and see oil in that same spot. It's a realistic experience in 3d.
Controls 10/10
Very simple, easy to understand controls with an interface that doesn't require you to be a scientist to figure out. Point, click, done. Easy, can't go wrong with that.
Gameplay 10/10
Construct buildings, create an army and citizens then sit back and watch as the world changes throughout the age advancements. It's your choice weather to wage war, or be a nice guy and create alliances with the computer, or via online play. The wars are simply amazing, capture enemy towns and construct a defense base, while citizens are gathering resources to make all of this possible. It can get pretty crazy with 4+ nations at war, that is when the true colors of the game start to shine. You can choose to be several nations all with their advantages and disadvantages.
A truly remarkable experience, that will only grow better and better as time goes on.
Re-playability 10/10
It will take a very long time for this game to get old. It is just way to much fun. With all the nations to try, all the gameplay types to try and with the online play, this game is well worth the asking price. Hours of fun, and all the unique gameplay types and ages makes this game a hard one to beat.
Recap
When you get the hang of this game, start battles with other nations, this game can get very addicting and very fun. Heck, the first time I played a scenario, I played for 4 hours straight!
What are you waiting for? Go get this game now! Hopefully, your nation will prevail.
