"Sometimes 3-D is good..."

Frogger. We've all heard of him. The blips and blops from hopping across the screen while avoiding several head-on collisions with cars can never be forgotten. Now he's got his own 3-D game, and boy, is it good...

3-D...that means good graphics, right?

Mostly, yes. Although it doesn't stand up to today's titles, it did rock way back when. You have to remember that this game was released 6 years ago. However, that does not mean the graphics totally suck. In fact, they're quite good. Everything is rendered pretty well, and slowdowns in frame rate are rare. Overall, the graphics are up to par.

Will I find myself head-banging to Frogger music as I zoom down the road?

Probably not, but the music is still great. Each level has a theme, and the music is based off that theme. I especially like the sky level music. Listen to it and you will agree. As for the sounds, they do get repetitive, but what do you expect when you're constantly hopping and slurping up stuff?

3-D...I'm still skeptical. Is it good?

Absolutely. You're in control of Frogger,(of course) and your goal is, as expected, to find the baby frogs. However, the level designs are brand new. You'll find yourself plumbing the sewers, soaring the skies, and exploring creepy caves to find these frogs. There are also lots of new enemies. Mowers, dogs, bats, monkeys, buffalo, they're all here, and waiting to take you down. However, you get help. You have the ability to hop over some of these enemies, and slurp up flies, which give you bonuses. You can croak, which can help you find the frogs if you're lost. You'll have a lot of exploring to do...and it's not just hopping. You'll also be skiing, sliding, flying on birds, and other cool stuff. I also like the game setup. When you take a look at the level menu, you'll see a stack of boxes, representing the different levels. You'll also see some that you can't access. You can unlock those by completing other levels in your selection. Also a new factor is golden frogs. They're hidden in certain levels, and are optional. However, to fully complete the game, you'll need to find each and every single one of them.

Hmm...how hard is it?

Well, it's not ridiculously hard. I'll grant you that. But it sure as hell isn't easy, either. The levels seem to be impossible at first. However, practice makes perfect, and you'll be acing the first half of this game in no time. I can't say the same for the second half, though...the further you get, the more difficult levels there are, until it becomes downright insane.

So...should I get this game?

I love playing this, and although it may be frustrating at times, it was definitely worth the 5 bucks I spent on eBay for it. Buy it...if you liked the original Frogger, you'll love this.
