"Too bad the graphics were poorly translated...in most cases, anyway...."

It took 10 months, but Squaresoft finally completed there PC port to Final Fantasy VII. It seems to be a great game, but let's take a closer look.

Gameplay: 10/10
Hasn't changed a bit. And for those who don't have a Playstation, it is good. The game is so immersive and fun to play. From the moment it starts to the moment it ends, you won't want to let go. Part of this is because of the plot and character develpment...

Storyline: 11/10
No, that's not a typo, the plot deserves it. It is just brilliant. Shinra's evil schemes, and Sephiroth's true motive, it is all brilliantly laid out and comes together perfectly at the end. Those who say the story was too confusing, are the stupid ones. What about the characters you say? Huh, you won't be dissapointed. They all seem to have their own feelings, and personnalities. And as you get towards to the end of the game, as the chracters seem to start trusting each other more, you'll see their true feelings. Okay, here we go.

Cloud: The most complex of the characters, his past is very clouded. And his true purpose for chasing Sephiroth becomes also an adventure to find out who he really is. And it's only the middle of the game where that becomes very painfully clear.

Tifa: A really shadowy character, unable to reveal her true feelings. She is the only key to Cloud's past, but Cloud does not know this, Tifa however, does...

Barret: Barret, he is the tough guy, he is fighting Shinra to avenge his wife, and his daughter Marlene.

Aerith: She seems like just a Flower Merchant, but she is really the key to the Planet. She is secretly in love with Cloud, but it is only for so long that she can hold this back.

Cait Sith: Who could forget Cait Sith? No, he is not a cat! He is really a human who is controling a mechanacle suit from a secret place. He joins the party just to see if his fortune telling predictions are correct, but does he have an alterier motive?

Red XIII: Red XIII is the last of his kind, lost his familly in a battle with an enemy tribe. He is currently an experiment in the Shinra Building.

Cid: A man with a dream. He seems solid as a rock. But he is really a warm-hearted old man, who wouldn't hesitate to surrender his ultimate dream for someone he loved.

Yuffie: Yuffie is a bratty adolescent who joins the groupe for a very greedy cause, but still for a good reason.

Vincent: A deep dark soul. Underneath all that though, is a tortured soul, who wishes he could love and fell like the rest of the world, but instead, he was cursed with a nightmare filled body to pay for his sins.

Sephiroth: Evil. Pure evil. No, he isn't insane, the question is, WHO is he. WHO are his REAL parents, and one more question...didn't he die five years ago???

Graphics: 9/10
Poorly translated graphics, well, like I said, "in most cases". The battle a gameplay graphics may have lowered slightly in quality, but a powerful graphics engine will make the FMV look like heaven, better than the Playstation version anyway.

Music: 10/10
It's got some spectacular tunes! I mean REALLY! And the other tunes may not be spectacular, but they fit the situation. Someone close to you is dying and you won't hear an electrical guitar.

To rent or to buy? What a stupid question! Buy it ya idiot! It'll take ya like a month to beat. You want to try it? Buy it. You'll find that the game radically changes over the time. By this I mean it gets much, much better. And the ending is brilliant!

Overall: 10/10
