"Thank you EA for another so-so game"

In Medal of Honor: Allied Assault Breakthrough, you play in the boots of Sgt. John Baker, a tough-as-nails infentryman in the ''Red Bull'' division. You play through such leavles like Kasserine Pass and Monte Cassino. Along your journey you encounter new weapons and new allies, along with new enemy's to defeat and new challanges to complete. Sounds good so far, well it really doesnt get any better than that.

Story: 5
Ok, you start out in North Africa taking on what seems like Rommels ENTIRE Africa Corps, single handedly. Of course EA made an attempt to make you feel like you are just a ordinary soldier in some missions, but your friendly AI does very little to help you. After your out of Africa, you are all of a sudden in a glider with American airborne soldiers? How did this happen? Was he promoted from just regular infentry to airborne practicaly overnight? As you can see the story line becomes very dull and disturbing at most times. You often find yourself trying to save someone and around every corner is another scripted event.

Graphics: 8
This is where the MOH: AA series really begins to shine. On low quality the graphics look weak and milky, but when turned up they appear very well, and adds to the enjoyment of your game play. Most weapons look nice and the enemy look like the enemy even from a distance, not just a grey or green looking soldier thing.

Sound: 7
This is another great aspect of the game. Most voice acting is fair, at least its not horriable. The gun sounds, although some are not correct, still sound well and somewhat real. I can tell you that the M1 Garand in the game is compleatly fake, but im not sure about all the other weapons becaus i have not fired them. The music is well composed, well, what music i could find was well composed.

Replay Value:6
In fact, you may find youself not even finishing the game at all. There is such a large amount of scripting and you often find youself restarting leavels just so you can make sure you have enough health. When you do beat the game you dont really feel like you have accomplished anything of value, you just feel...well.........um ok, now what. And because of this scripting, you know EXACTLY what to do next time so its like: ''ok pop this german in the head here, then 3 italians rush me, then pop this sniper here....'' and is really not very fun.

Overall Game: 7
Its poor story line and replay value are made up partialy by graphics and sound. There are many scripted events and from what i have seen and expearenced, there are alot of bugs in the game. The realism is pretty low for those of us who like it, and if u dont care about realism, you must think something is wrong with one guy shooting a machine gun, loading a tank shell, and driving at the same time.

So is this game worth your money? Of course EA says YES!!! But i say no. There are just too many problems and down sides in the game, too many bugs, scripts, etc... If you still plan on getting this game i suggest waiting until it is in the bargin bin at where you buy your games, and also be ready to download patches because most likely you will need them. I hoped that this review helped you make your mind about this game, and if you already have it, i hope this review was entertaining.
