Return to Castle Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
Review by PsyOMGPsyPIJONPSY
"Amazingly fun and deep"
Introduction
I downloaded this game when it first came out because it was free. I've heard of RTCW and I wondered what this would be like. I played it, and I was hooked. For a game that's only multiplayer and has 6 maps, it's an amazing game. Worth $20 or more just for multiplayer.
Graphics- 9/10
Not amazing, but still very good, and good enough to provide a realistic looking experience. The Americans look like Americans, and the Germans look like Germans in how they are dresses. Not incredibly detailed, but very animated and interesting. Rudabega.
Sound- 9/10
The gun sounds are good enough, and the voices are very entertaining. The Americans have a funny voice in this game, and the Germans' voices are funnier. Everything is spoken in English, but in a German accent. Now you don't have to look at the bottom of the screen for translation because the speech is in another language. Basic words like ''Hello'' and ''Yahooo!!'' are in German. The voices, gun sounds, and all other sounds aren't realistic, but they add to a good experience.
Gameplay- 10/10
Here's the best part. The Gameplay is very deep for a FPS. You can be either American or German in 6 maps. There are 5 classes on both sides: Soldier, Medic, Engineer, Field Ops, and Special Ops. Each class does it's own things. Soldiers can carry heavy weapons and get more ammo. Medics can heal teammates and revive them when they are on the ground. Engineers can plant explosives, landmines, build and repair things. They are usually necessary to complete an objective. Field Ops can call artillery or air support to attack the enemy. The only reason I didn't give this game an 11/10 is because it is very annoying when you are being spammed by 5 Field Ops on the other team. Special Ops can snipe and be silent, and can steal enemy uniforms to go behind enemy lines. All 5 classes play a critical role in your team's success. Another awesome part of this game is the experience system. There are 7 categories that you can earn experience from, which are the 5 classes plus light weapons and battle sense (how well you survive). Each time you level up in a category, you gain a new item/ability to make you stronger. Of course, each category only makes you stronger when you are that corresponding class. The maps are mission based. The Allies are always the assault team, and Axis are always the defensive team. The maps are geniusly made and very fun. Punkbuster gets rid of cheating mooses.
Replay- 100/100
The reason I made this so high is because I like cheese. Not only that, this game is very replayable. It is hard to not want to join more and more games to see how much experience you can get, and you'd want to play more to find out new experience bonuses, and maybe you'd want to moose me pickle. You will probably replay it just because a certain class is so fun. How is it not fun to take an enemy uniform and trick your opponents into thinking you are on their team? Rudabega!
Rent or Buy?- 10/10
Buy it. You can get it at your local Fileplanet for $0.00 plus tax.
Conclusion- 10/10
This game has a good supply of conclusions. This game is awesome saucum. Get it, or you will not have it, which will lead to the inability to play this game. Which would be pretty bad, because I sincerely prefer that you play this game. Why? Because if you don't, you MAY not have this game! Simple as that!
