MU Online

Review by kbe2k2

"An MMORPG that's worth a try"

Gameplay - 7/10

Mu like most MMORPG's out right now is still in beta so gameplay isn't everything that it's desired to be. Leveling seems to be the main purpose of the game at this moment. The game itself consist of 3 classes, Dark Knight, Dark Wizard and Elf with the addition of a bonus class Magic Gladiator upon reaching a certain level. Skills are obtained through various items, all of which will become useful through the various levels. Although Mu has the basics of character development it still lacks the basis of solid character builds. You'll find yourself leveling on monsters just over half your level due to not having the best equipment, trading in this game is like being spammed with pop ups and you'll find out quickly that people tend to overprice items constantly just to make extra profit so they can afford what there trying to buy. Besides having a few problems the all around gameplay holds up and isn't all that bad, with a little work it could become really good.

Graphics - 10/10

This game has some very impressive graphics, it may lack in gameplay but not in eye candy. Every character is well designed, armors weapons are all very colorful and detailed. All monsters and surroundings are well designed. Mu allows resolutions all the way up to 1280x1024 so everything looks really smooth, the only downside is that at high-res it's hard to impossible to see the ingame text. If your all about Graphics then Mu is pretty impressive for a free MMORPG.

Sound/Music - 6/10

While Mu has pretty good in game sounds it lacks any in game music. The sounds in Mu while being well matched with every actions and monster, will become somewhat annoying over time with the possibility of some in game music in future versions on Mu it may not be as bad.

Interface/Controls - 8/10

Pretty easy to use interface, consist of inventory functions, stats, party and guild menus. It does lack some one of the most important features, a buddy list. The controls in Mu are fairly simple the mouse is used to attack, left clicking to use your standard attack and right clicking to use skill, the keyboard functions are a little awkward because the keys can't be reconfigured to best suit your playing style.

Requirements - Medium

Mu supports hi detail and low detail so a high end graphics card isn't needed. Although you could play this game on dial up i'd suggest playing Mu on a broadband connection.

Overall - 8/10

Though Mu still needs a lot of work in order to become a solid MMORPG, It's development teams seem to be hard at work trying to improve every aspect of the game. So overall i'd suggest that any MMORPG fan at least try out Mu.
