"One of the best expansion packs for any game to date!"

Blizzard is absolutely great at making expansion packs to their games, and Brood War shows that in all its glory. From the new opening movie and in each and every scenario, there seems to be a lot more atmosphere than in Starcraft's original scenarios. For example, the Scourges flying over head in the Protoss's first level. Little details like that really help to add to the game.

Overall the single player missions are a lot better than those found in Starcraft, but probably because it is an expansion so they could leave off the first few "tutorial" missions.

The new units are also very cool additions, and something that was lacking from the Warcraft 2 Expansion. New terrain sets are also avaialble, and are just as well, if not more, detailed than the original terrain sets. Blizzard also threw in some new abilities/spells for the new units which add a lot to the game as well. And even though its a very small thing, I really liked the addition of flying "critters".

Graphics wise, the game is the same as Starcraft of course, with the exception of the new units and terrains.

The only negative thing about Brood War whatsoever is the Protoss are getting really really cheesy. Between Dark Templars and Mind Control, they are unstoppable if played right.

If you have Starcraft, definitly pick up Brood War. It took me a while to get it, and I had no idea what I was missing!
